Going back to last year.. what did the media & fanbase have as Joe’s Heisman moment?

That 3rd & 17 conversion late against Texas was insane/set the tone for a special season.

My Horns need to flip the channel on that in ‘20.

Most sports writers & talking heads on TV predicted a down year for Texas last season, and they were correct. Pretty much the whole front 7 on defense was new, the DBs were still very young, and several key OL spots had new starters.

Texas was garbage, and still, managed to stay with 7 points of 2 of the 4 playoff teams, including the national champs (who had one of the best seasons of all time).

Everything should be different this year. Front 7 on D mostly returns, the highly recruited DBs are all upperclassmen, o-line is stable & our sure to be drafted LT chose to return. All of this, and Texas has a Senior QB who has pretty much been a 4-year starter. Also, our DC, who insane scheme had our best pass rusher (Ossai) mostly dropping back in to coverage, is gone.

All of this mixed with LSU having crazy turnover in all areas point to Texas having a real shot. LSU is insanely talented, but that doesn't always cut it against a talented and veteran team.

I'm numb in regards to expectations. The worst decade in the history of Texas football (the past 10 years) has made me realize that any humiliation is possible. Still, we all search for optimism, and here is mine. If Herman can't beat teams like OU and LSU in the regular season this year, then he never will, and he'll soon be gone.

What a convenient and self serving memory you have in regards to national media's expectations for the horns heading into the '19 season. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE had UT right up there just barely out of the top 10. There were picked #2 in the big xii behind the sooners.

According to horns fans message board site, UT had the better team. horns were basically better at every position group, Oline, Dline, QB, WR, LBs and the horns were actually .DBU. DC was much better than Aranda. EdO and LSU's offensive staff couldn't carry Hermann's jock

That LT you mentioned. Would that be Cosmi? You thought he would transfer out? He was a Tr Soph last year so it's not like he could opt out for the draft.

As for the turnover at LSU. Didn't Hermann basically get rid of his WHOLE staff? I'd think you would be more concerned with that.

As for the LSU roster. You truly underestimate the talent level on this tiger team. If Brennan can just get 65% of what Joey B did then tigers "O" will be rolling. All the "D" needs is to find the right set of LBs from a very experienced and talented group of prospects.

Now to quote LSU's world renowned head football coach EdO

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Your coaches, players, and fans are totally unprepared for a Saturday night in Death Valley. That’s worth at least 7.
