QB-Crybaby(Florida) Agree, though if I were selecting a team, I would take Mnning becuase he's better in a pro style offense.
RB-Herschel(UGA)
WR-Josh Reed(LSU) Disagree, see above.
WR-Ike Hilliard(Florida) Maybe, he was pretty damned good.
TE-Ozzie Newsome(Alabama) agree

T-Bob Suffridge(Tennessee) Disagree, Willie Anderson (AUburn)
G-JOhn Hannah(Alabama)
C-Bob Johnson(Tennessee) Disagree, Dwight Stephenson (Alabama)
G-Chris Samuels(Alabama) Disagree, should be at Tackle.
T-Bruiser Kinard(Ole Miss) Move to gaurd.

DE-Reggie White(Tennessee)
DT-Tracy Rocker(Auburn)
DT-John Henderson(Tennessee)
DE-Disagree, John Copeland (Alabama)

LB-Derrick Thomas(Alabama)
LB-LeeRoy Jordan(Alabama)

Yes, can you follow logic behind arguments? Your logic behind the idea that Reed is better than Hutson is because he had better stats (you use the word 'production' but in the context of your argument, 'production' and 'stats' mean the same thing) then Reed must be better than Hutson. To simplify it Better Stats (which you call 'production') = better player. Now, lets apply that logic (Better stats= Better Player). DJ Hall had better Stats than Ozzie Newsome. Because, according to your logic, better stats= better player, we get the following: DJ Hall Stats > Ozzie Newsome Stats; therefore (by your logic) DJ > Ozzie Newsome. Now, clearly Ozzie is better than DJ. Therefore, your logic doesn't work. Ozzie Newsome Stats were worse than DJ Hall's, yet he was a better player. Therefore, you cannot determine who is the better player by merely comparing stats. There are numerous other factors that are involved.

the hell? you must just have a bias against Reed. He significantly outproduced Hilliard in the same era, in one less year at WR to boot.

Again, see my argument. Its long, and requires thought, but give it the old college try.

Tebow wouldn't be able to use Josh Reed & Hillard right. Most likely he would want to run around and try to truck a linebacker over.

Very good point. different eras lead to different stats, teams who may have lacked defense may have thrown the ball more or just had a better QB at one time, etc

well no kidding.

Hence, why i mentioned those pesky things like his total body of work relative to peers, records, post season honors, etc.

Hutson only started a full season his senior year.

yes, your agument is to simply harp on stats saying they don't matter, ignoring the other factors i listed, then providing no other evidence to support your silly Hutson selection.

What other factors? All your 'factors' were stats- stats relative to this that or the other, but all stats.

Don Hutson was a two time All American, invented the position of wide reciever as we know it today, was the star of an undefeated Rose Bowl champion, and then went on to become one of the greatest pros ever (don't get your panties in a wad just yet, I'm not basing my opinion on his pro career). He was, quite simply, the best. He invented and perfected new routes (while in college) and was forced to play with a more rounded ball. Quite simply, he was better.

Doug Atkins > Reggie White in college.

Was named SEC Overall Player of the Quarter Century (1950-1975) and was the only unanimous selection to the SEC 50th anniversary team.

Quite frankly, three of the four Dlineman should be Vols.

Unless you have a DL that won both the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award, Tracy Rocker is the undisputed best DL in SEC history.

Actually, I think Archie Manning is at the top. I know, none of you are old enough to have witnessed it.

I've seen plenty of game footage to say that he should be about top 5. He had the same problems here that he had at N.O. It wasn't like he CHOOSE to scramble.
