FYI, A&M will have more of a running attack this year. Three different RB's who could be a #1 + JFF + New OC who was previously RB coach (no more KK).

See Cotton Bowl for reference.

A&M? No, simply because JFF won't be able to run as easily and the OL will drop off a bit. Younger WRs will also be a minor factor.

Good stuff here. They also lose Christine Michael which won't help the running attack.

Will it have more rushing yards in 2013?

I think Bama will drop a little this year. Another team could slip into first in most rushing yards in 2013. Especially if Bama decides to air it out a little bit more, having AJ back and 2nd yr under the OC.

Exactly. The Aggies think their unproven transfer RBs are sure things.

Malena is a solid back that can do everything well. Trey Williams, you know the guy that 'Bama offered, will be sophomore and showed flashes of brilliance last year as the 3rd RB. Brandon Williams is unproven, but was a 5* that appeared to be a BAMF in the Spring Game. That just leaves Tra, who is more of a 3rd and 2 kinda guy anyway. We have some issues to address this year, but RB isn't one of them.

I agree.

So? Doesn't mean he's a proven talent at the SEC level.

Indeed.

Without proving themselves,, this means you don't have a #1.

Have you seen Sumlins record without Kingsbury, my question is who's really the offensive mind?

How many rushing yards vs our DL this year?

I think combined The backs hit 100-150. Just enough to keep you honest and help slow down the edge. Murray goes off. 300+ & 4tds

Well we return Malena, who was our starter from last year. So if we don't have a starter, that means the guys behind him are really really good and pushing for the nod.

65 carries for 376 yards (5.8 avg.)
12 catches for 171 yards (14.3 avg.)

He's the most dangerous in space, which is why we like to get him with the swing passes and such. He'll be fine. Of all of our positions, RB is the one that I'm worried about the least.

1-0

Personally I think A&M will be better than good in the RB position, but it's all just speculation at this point. Damn I'm ready for football season.

Either/or, it doesn't matter. Sumlin has been doing it longer, and was an offensive coach long before Kingsbury ever got out of high school. It is a concept offense, and the playbook is one page. The offense is based around coaching, recruiting players around your philosophy, and getting players so much repetition they become masters. Kirby Smart is the defensive coordinator under Saban. Does anyone really think that when they lose him, they won't be able to find someone to fill in? It is the same thing, imo. Kingsbury won't be missed.

Surely you aren't including the year before Kliff where they had to use their 4th string QB the entire year? Because your stat would then be incredibly misleading...

I wish Kliff well at Tech, and if you knew how I felt about Tech you'd know that's painful for me to say. But I think you overestimate his importance. OU would agree with me. A&M offense will be better than fine. If A&M has a weakness it will be with the front 7 on defense, where they lost a lot of good players. On the other hand, the defense was also a big question this time last year. We'll see. I can't wait for the season to start - it will be fun, that much is certain for me.

One of the hardest parts to replace. The secondary did damn well, but they also need the front 7 to help them out.
