Don't know what would have happened to Ole Miss, but I have to think this scenario would have led to the Fulmer era ending several years earlier in Knoxville.

That brings to mind
What if UT doesn't hire Kiffy?

What if Tyson Lee stretches the football one inch further?

What if Troy runs the ball and the clock in the 4th quarter instead of passing

Wait, Bama played for and won the SEC in '99. What was States record that year?

What happens to the State program if they had won the SEC in '98 and then in '99?

then the Sly Croom experiment does not happen, and Jackie and the DawgPound Rock stick around in Starkvegas
And MSU gets pounded by NCAA sanctions a few years later.

That is a good what if. Les might be gone at this point and Lane Kiffin would be our coach.

10-2

That was the best State team ever, it also had a lot of idiots who would take time off during games which cost us. They very well could have run the table.

good one....that guy is a good coach IMO, and they ran him out of town a little prematurely

no......no we didn't. Cutcliffe ran himself out of town. He stopped recruiting, made shitty hires, and refused to fix his shitty hires.

We gave him the opportunities to fix his shitty hires and he refused.

The offenses were too small for that.

Ahhh ok. Back then I didn't pay any attention to other teams, so I didn't know if they even had a chance at it in '99

What if Jasper Sanks isn't called for a fumble in OT against GT in 99? Does Jim Donnan stick around longer?
