Congrats Ole Miss. I said you would win it before the season began.

I watched your AAU American Legion Team beat our SC guys while they were all still in high school two years ago in Charlotte, and they were the most impressive bunch of young players I have ever seen on one AAU team, and I think eight of them were Ole Miss commits and one MSU commit at the time.

I figured y'all would be hell on wheels within a couple of years.

Bam, take it to the bank. The little man from Oak Grove High School put the bears on his shoulders and toted them with his arm. They have been known to choke, but the Rebels could make some noise in the regionals. They have very good, not great starting pitching and a lot of arms in the pen. The only ?? Is closing out games. We blew multiple run leads in the 9th inning or extra innings against SC, Bama, and State. If Overby fields a routine ground ball we beat Aaron Nola. That's four more wins we let slip away and a shot at the overall SEC championship. But, we still played good ball down the stretch and won the West after being picked 6th. We are pretty solid in all phases of the game, especially offensively, leading the league in hitting and among the leaders of every major category. Our Friday and Saturday starters are the only undefeated tandem in the league as well, but our bats have a lot to do with that stat. We have some great senior leadership, especially behind the plate. Will Allen has had a great year defensively and with the bat. Overbey is killing us though, at the plate and with the glove. We have some good young players that have been clutch and Robinson has gotten better as the season progressed and is very solid. We have one of the best outfields in the nation that can really cover some ground. Bos is tops in the SEC batting and Braxton Lee leads the league in stolen bases. They are a very solid team, but so were the 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009 teams and we couldn't make it to the big stage. Maybe this is finally the year we get over the hump, with a team that has surprised everyone, including myself. I would give anything to have Scott Bittle on the back end of our bullpen with this team. Florida is solid, Vandy is loaded with major league arms, LSU is starting to swing the bats, SC has been injury riddled but still loaded with talent and State's bullpen is as good as any in the country. Should be a great tournament in Hoover this year, just glad we are not playing in the single elimination round this year.
