Think about this for a sec. The '27 Yankees, thought to be the best and most consistent pro baseball team of all time, lost 44 games.

Losses happen. Its baseball. You have pitching rotation, hot streaks batting (and cold) and games when everything just goes wrong. Too many nuances in baseball to not expect to lose a few games here and there.

One of the reasons its a great sport.

But you can go winless. I was taken back when I saw that Arkansas Monticello went winless back a few years ago. My brother played for them back in the early 2000's. They were bad then, but not "winless" bad.

I know Alabama sucks this year, but it's still baseball. There are people in the Hall of Fame that failed 70% of the time they went to the plate.

State looked solid this weekend, but ole miss ain't played nobody. they both should be undefeated, as should LSU and Arkansas.

TCU ain't exactly a nobody. They've stumbled out of the gate but they're still a top-25 team on most polls.

Anybody that says this regarding baseball is being absurd.

This isn't football or even basketball. Teams drop games to lesser teams now and then

And lesser teams can come out of nowhere to pull out victories too.

Baseball's funny like that, because an underdog seems to have a much greater chance to win a game than an underdog would in football or basketball, for example. That's why baseball seasons are long, because you can't determine who the best teams are after just ten games or so like you can in football.

I haven't looked deeply into the rest of the west teams, but LSU dropped 2 to App St. On the Saturday, their pitcher was fricking lights out and we lost 1-0 (they hit a solo HR in like the 4th inning). I'm anxious to see how that kid finishes the season, he was very good. On the Sunday, we just played like shite.

So we've got one 'bad loss' and one due to just getting beat by a good pitcher. But both were to what looks like right now a good mid-major team that will threaten to play in a regional.

I imagine that Arky, Ole Miss, and State's losses are similar and not really that bad either.
