Typically they are. They actually used to be announced during the championship game. Remember being at the title game in 2010 and the hosts being posted in the 4th or 5th inning.

I know I’m a little biased but State Vandy and Arkansas are the three best teams in the country. UCLA has an elite pitching staff that runs a shitty small ball offense and plays no one

Why isn’t the highest seed (LSU) not playing now? You’d think they’d want the early game for more rest.

If LSU wins tonight, they play the late game again tomorrow, so rest won't be an issue

I have no idea, but to my knowledge no one gets to choose their time slot. Same thing in the basketball tournament, albeit they do it backwards with the top seed playing all early games. But if it were up to me, I don't think I'd choose a 9:30 AM start time.

Yes the 1 seed gets choice in tournaments usually. Except the national ones. That’s why the 1 seeds usually take early game of session as they know the routine and rest.

No link yet on phone. But being in conference tournament pre meetings and NCAA Regionals meetings both the 6 and 4 team versions, they usually were given a choice on the conference call.
The Supers and Omaha is set like the NCAAMBB Tourney
The MVC used to let Wichita set the whole tourney up to favor them when it was played there. Wichita would make the 3/4 game the middle game and play L3/4 w1/6 early in morning to set up pitching. Wichita no matter what got to play the 7 pm game then the 1 pm game next day. They scheduled all their home series that way also
