I realize choosing an Ostrich strategy is an avenue some will go down, but I'll avoid turning this Pandemic into a poli discussion.

Test more...we are correcting the mistakes made at the Federal level to address this issue.

Limit contact...social distancing, containment when warranted and quarantine when necessary all seem appropriate.

If I gave the impression I was following an ostrich strategy that wasn't my intention.

I totally agree with the suggestions you made. Widespread testing of everyone with even minor cold like (or worse) symptoms need to tested TODAY and those with such symptoms should err on the safe side and assume they're infected and self quarantine until they can be tested and either confirmed or ruled out as being infected. The testing of any and all with any of the symptoms will go a long way in getting this over with much quicker.

Totally agree on limiting contact with others too. The economy is going to take a big short term hit with these measures but doing so should limit the severity and scope of the hit to a short term one.

The only point I was making where I got political is that the president's enemies in government and especially the media in my humble opinion are driving people to a hysteria and panic level disproportionate to the threat the virus poses. I NEVER suggested the situation wasn't very serious or that it was nothing. There are people out there in the media who aren't interested in responsibly reporting the facts and truly coming together to help solve this problem and only see it as a sick and twisted opportunity to score political points against the president. Misinformation that is spread willingly or unwillingly by people in pursuit of that goal should be called out no matter what side of the political aisle does it. At best it's irresponsible and doesn't help anyone solve the problem we're facing and at worst it's destroying the economy and confusing and scaring people which makes fighting the disease that much harder.

I'm hopeful that we will rise to the occasion as Americans and work together to greatly limit the damage and move on. The fact that.

I'm hearing stories of people still being reckless and doing things like going to work sick is troubling.

Amen to all of that and totally agree about going to work sick. Very foolish and stupid of people to go to work even with relatively cold symptoms even if they're relatively minor like a scratchy raw sore throat/sneezing/coughing/etc. Totally irresponsible at this point even if they don't feel that bad.
