Vandy was ranked 24th when we beat them at their place.
Are you sure LSU wasn't ranked when the refs gave them that game in WB?

List is by current rankings. Rankings at the time of the game are meaningless.
FSU was ranked 10th in the nation when GT beat them to open the season. FSU is 2-9 right now. It's silly to count that as a ranked win for GT because the ranking wasn't right.

If that's the case then the premise of this thread is meaningless because, by season's end, today's rankings will not be the same.
Matter of fact, these rankings will not be the same by this time next week.
So, based upon your metric, what's the point?

Texas who is what 23-3 the past couple seasons who recruits ad a top 5 program is the same as Mizzou lololololol. Either a bad troll or truly fricking stupid
Mizzou is 19-5 compared to 23-3 for TExas and has played more ranked opponents the last two years.
This year neither has beaten a ranked team nor lost to an unranked team. Mizzou has just played more ranked teams.
I'm sorry you don't like what the stats are saying... but right now the stats are saying Texas = Mizzou.

When discussing football for a season, you always use the latest rankings until the season is over, from which point you use the final rankings for that year.
All you can work with are the most up to date numbers. I suppose you could say "screw it, I'm not going to talk about college football until the season is over"... but I like talking about college football. So I'll talk about it based on our current understanding of the game, even if that might end up being flawed next week.
I won't intentionally pretend FSU is good because they were a top 10 team to start the year though. That's just stupid.

Also, the problem at looking at the time of game is that it's an issue to say that a game against the same team is ranked for one team who played them but not for another playing the exact same team in the exact same year.
Like why would SC not be a ranked win for Ole Miss, Bama or LSU but would be a ranked loss for Mizzou? They all played the same team... South Carolina. The fact SC's schedule was front loaded shouldn't impact the teams based on if they played them early or late in the year.

Time of game rankings are stupid. GT beat FSU when they were ranked in the top 10. FSU is a 2-9 team this year. Anything that counts that as a "ranked win" is a very stupid way to look at the sport.
don't worry. if we beat the ags they'll drop out of the top 25 so the sec goobers can still whine about it.
If we beat the ags then beat Georgia (I don't think we will beat the ags just playing what if) I can't fricking wait for the narrative after that georgia game. Georgia didn't want to be there? didn't want a bye week and wanted to stay finely tuned for the playoffs? It'll be golden whatever it is.

1 team is about to make back to back playoffs, the other has never made it.
Find me a statistic that Mizzou is doing better than Texas? Btw Texas SoS is better than Mizzou the past 2 years, more wins, better offense and defense.
Also 2023 Texas beat 5 teams ranked in the final Ap top 25 to 3 for Mizzou and neither has a top 25 win this year, so again quit lying and trolling like an idiot

A&M will drop out of the top 25 because they lost to unranked Auburn in addition to South Carolina, Texas and Notre Dame. Not because of some unfairness to Texas.
Look, it's not your fault that Michigan ended up sucking and that you got one of the easiest draws in the SEC this year.
But the fact is that if you beat A&M and lose to UGA, people will be CORRECT to question Texas. They'd have 2 ranked games (both against UGA, neither one in Athens) and Texas would have lost both. Their best win would be over 8-4 Texas A&M.
Can you see how that would get you compared to teams like SMU or Indiana who also lost to the only good teams they played.
All you have to do to erase that is win against a team ranked high enough to remain ranked after losing to you... not a team in the 20's that will drop out with a loss.
Your schedule is so week you only have one team like that on it this year... and you lost.

I don't believe I said Mizzou > Texas.
I said Mizzou = Texas.
The stat that shows that is that both teams have lost to every team currently ranked that they've played this year and beaten every unranked team they've played.
Right now Texas and Mizzou have the same resume this season. Sucky against ranked teams, good against unranked teams and a close shave vs Vandy.
The only reason Texas is ranked higher is that they've played 1 ranked team and Mizzou's played 3.

If you truly believe Texas = Mizzou you are nuts. Texas would be a double digit favorite over Mizzou.
Margin of victory should matter, also you clearly didn't watch the Texas vandy game if you think that was a 3pt game. Mizzou beat vandy in double ot at home, played a laughable non con, and have been smoked in almost every loss. The Texas Georgia game was a one possession in the 4th and if dawgs don't complete a long 3rd down and punt Texas could have tied the game. Georgia won that game and caused a lot of our 7 turnovers so taking nothing away but you are nuts to call
Mizzou = to Texas.
Every rating system for offensive, defensive, etc has Texas ahead of Mizzou.
I would welcome playing Bama, tenn, lsu, etc but I didnt make the schedule. Standing on this will narrative that Texas couldn't best a ranked team just because they played one in the current poll is ridiculous. We are the only team that plays 3 rivalry games this year
And one of the few sec teams that actually tries to schedule and ooc quality opponent. Mizzou has none of those going for them. In fact they have lost 2 more games than Texas.
If we best ATM (which is our 3rd Road/neutral rivavly game this year) I can't wait to play Georgia again.

Again..we were told it was a gauntlet and there were no weeks off. Did sec fans lie to us for 2 years?
Because if it IS a gauntlet, we're the only team to win all the games where we were highly favored. You can't erase that fact no matter how hard you try.
We sucked in the ga game no doubt. If we beat the aggies we'll have a chance to redeem it. No one knows what's going to happen it's silly to fight about it I guess.
My question is...how is us sucking against an elite team somehow worse than sucking against kentucky, arkansas, auburn, etc?

Nope, twice that per the OP.
Georgia over Clemson
OU over Tulane

You really should net all of these out. I mean it's stupid to have Texas and Mizzou in there when they had zero unranked losses or wins. It should be something like this.
UGA +3
OU +2
Bama, UF, SC, +1,
Tx, Mizzou, TN, A&M, LSU, 0
Arky, Ole Miss, Vandy -1
Auburn, Uk, MSU -3

The fact that OU is #2 in this metric after the shitshow of a season we’ve had just shows how dumb it is to ignore ranked losses—like they somehow don’t count because the other team is ranked. Why would our awful loss to a shite Mizzou team not count against us?

You just made my point.
Is Indiana a Top 10 team?
No, but why?
Because they've played no one except OSU who promptly bent them over and went in dry.
Is Indiana a better team than LSU? Better than Ole Miss? Better than SC? Better than Mizzou? Better than Vandy even?
Heck no, but guess what, they're ranked higher thus proving you're "ranked teams" metric really doesn't work.
Now if we really wanna have a football discussion where we compare SEC teams .... we'd do it by a SOS metric combined with the W-L, Home vs Away, etc. Would probably make for a damn decent Venn Diagram.

Texasat home to the only other ranked team they played. Mizzou lost to all 3 ranked teams they've faced, but at least all of them were road games.
Both teams beat all the unranked teams they played.
Texas and Mizzou both beat Vandy by 3.
Texas beat MSU by 22 while Mizzou beat them by 19.
The only data point that suggests Texas > Mizzou is the difference in the OU game, which Mizzou won by 7 but Texas won by 31. But the problem is Mizzou's starting QB was out for that game. Their backup managed 143 yards in the game. That suggest that if Mizzou had their starter they would have won by a larger margin.
So while you think Texas is better than Mizzou, on paper they've performed like the same team.
To change that opinion, beat A&M. But if Texas loses that game, then that will cement in stone that Texas is the same as Mizzou this year, just with an easier schedule.
