While I agree he led with the crown, I don't necessarily agree with the suspension. Only because between DII, FCS, and FBS a spear type hit undoubtedly occurs every week. If they are going to start handing out suspensions every time one of these hits occurs then that is fine, but I doubt it happens.
FWIW, players are taught to not lead with the crown to protect themselves, not the person that they are hitting. Most times it's the person doing the hitting that ends up injured not the person being hit.
