I don't really see the water logged issue. As soon as it stops raining it is gone. Of course there is water on the ground if it is pouring rain. I don't know what the dead spots have to do with anything.

If the field drained properly it wouldn't matter, that's my point.

I guess you have higher field draining standards.

Of course I do, have you seen our field? Baum is the gold standard.
Posted on 6/9/12 at 12:06 pm to Stonehog
Is there a video I can watch to observe the drainage in action?
Posted on 6/9/12 at 12:07 pm to Stonehog
real stadiums have championship banners. therefore, baum does not qualify for "gold standard"

Lame post dude. We are trying to have a serious drainage discussion here.
Posted on 6/9/12 at 12:12 pm to Stonehog
they are probably about to postpone this game. frick playing in that rain. its supposed to be like this all day
Posted on 6/9/12 at 12:12 pm to crankbait
If the SEC expands again, we should consider Stony Brook.

Serious discussion? You're in drainage denial brah, I can't have a serious discussion with someone who refuses to accept his fields' shortcomings.
Posted on 6/9/12 at 12:15 pm to Stonehog
Hey man. I am obviously ignorant to the possibility of superior drainage. Enlighten me.
Posted on 6/9/12 at 12:21 pm to F1V3LSU
For superior drainage, the field should be on top of 12 inches of sand, just like a golf course. We go by PGA regulations for our grass fields.

You're a dumbass it's had 5" of rain in 3 days it doesn't matter what fricking kind of drainage you have..
Posted on 6/9/12 at 12:24 pm to Stonehog
Are there different layers of sands? Different diameters? Strictly sand? Any silt? Maybe a layer of gravel?

This is awesome.

Baum could take 6 inches in one hour and the field would still be playable about 20 minutes later.

Oh my the tiger rant I bet is about to explode after that out at 2nd
Posted on 6/9/12 at 12:29 pm to Stonehog
Never seen that before. Runner gets 2nd base on a walk but was stealing, apparently slid past the bag, was tagged and called out.

Weird happening.
It was the correct call, though.
