I actually like this schedule because Arkansas closes with Texas, LSU, and Tennessee.
For anyone to win the SEC, they will have to go through Arkansas to do it, so-to-speak.
May is gonna be fun.

Depending on seeding, I could see 4 of 8 being SEC squads with up to 8 getting regional host spots.
Right now, I’d bet on Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, and LSU.
Can’t put Georgia in Omaha until we establish some decent pitching. With their way Foley plays in late May, we can’t just hope to out slug good competition. Ball flies in that warm weather, we’re still too vulnerable in that regard right now

Arkansas has by far the most brutal schedule of any SEC contender.
Ready to get the hell out of Austin and get right for hosting #1 this weekend

I could see Georgia and Aggie getting in as well. A@M is still a very talented team, we shall see if they build off of this weekend explosion of hitting. Georgia definitely has the offensive firepower to make a run as well.

I know ya'll had a shitty weekend but I see a path for Georgia making it as well.

Thankfully we have Texass and 10RC at home, but absolutely a brutal finish.

I think the Aggies have a good shot at making the postseason now.
The issue with aTm and the post season is they sit at 16-15 overall right now.
Say they go 5-1 against SC and Mizzou. That puts them at 21-16. Let’s say they do not get swept but win at least 1 game in the other 4 series. That puts them at 25-24. There is very little wiggle room in the mid week games and they absolutely cannot get swept against the top of the league teams. One single game going forward will end any hope quickly.

that’s HFA right there
ball always bounces right back

I may just not watch this game. That bounce tells me everything about how this sweep is about to go.
If Sankey sends us back to Austin for any reason in the near future, we should shite in a box and mail it to him.

Finley is a midweek starter at best in the SEC. He’s got the build and stuff of an SEC weekender but for the life of him he can’t put it together mentally.
For as great as his resume is, I’m woefully unimpressed with Wes as a pitching coach tot his point.

We had the same feeling in 23. Skenes was the only consistent pitcher we had until the end of the season. Like UGA this year, our bats were so good nobody remembers the struggles we had on the mound.

Gaeckle has to get out of his own head. Maybe he’s better out of the pen..

Just nobody has taken a step forward this year. Curley is about our most consistent arm and he’s a transfer in this season. Goldstein is coming off TJ, Kolten Smith lost 10lbs due to illness earlier this season so that’s all understandable tht they’re building back up.
But Finely hasn’t changed, Davis came in off a really solid year at Bama and is just a total mess with his mechanics, Zach Harris started a number of game last year and basically just throws 1 inning a week as the midweek starter this year.
I just keep waiting for the staff to turn a corner and while they’re improving incrementally, I’m starting to worry that they’re not going to be up to snuff come May when we need a combo of offense and decent pitching.

Too, our hitting approach this weekend has been atrocious and somewhat of a carryover from last weekend vs Auburn. Getting buried in 0-2 and 1-2 counts and striking out at a much higher rate than we have all year.
Part of that is facing decidedly the best group of arms that we hve all season. Imagine some of that is also us trying to find ways to put the ball in play given that the weather and wind just isn’t allowing us to reliably do what we want to with the long ball.
Frustrating as hell seeing Texas lob a few HRs when everything we touch up seems to die short of the track. The god damned Texas weather is in on the conspiracy!
