Look at it like this.
A&M has approximately 40,000 student passes (rough estimate).
40K * $290 = 11.6 M
That is a shite ton of revenue from students right?
The high end of those seats on the other side goes for 4K in donation per year and that ignores the capital over years you have to pay down (max at 15k). The cheapest seats in Kyle go for ~$540. So lets go very conservatively and call it $1000 for those seats regularly.
40K * $1,000 = 40 M.
A&M's opportunity cost to give the 12th Man the largest student section in prime areas is at a bare bare minimum 28.4 M.

It has changed from 2014 (transition year in the stadium), but this is approximately (take away 7 sections in the endzone) where the student section is (in green).
Having that many students at the game is awesome.
I always sit across from the corps and Aggie students at Jerry World, and I'm always impressed at the number of students y'all bring (and how loud they are).

Kidding aside, I bet those basketball tickets aren't cheap nowadays.

Man it would be awesome as a student to have it included in tuition.
when I was a student all sports were included in tuition. of course that was the late 60's.
one still had to get to the football and basketball games very early. basketball was because of Pistol Pete. I could care less about the sport of basketball but watching the Pistol play was never ceased to amaze me.
