I could see MAYBE a smaller type deck of premium seating I guess but I don't think it will ever be a full blown upper deck in the NEZ. I'd much rather see LSU put it's money towards renovating the bathrooms, concourses, concessions, etc.

Talking to people in the AD and facility mgmt profs at LSU (we/they did a structure report on Tiger Stadium, detailing the potential of expansion for TS), they all but guaranteed they will never add an upper deck to the north endzone. They say the space just isn't there for the type of footprint it would take up and as many have pointed out the new thing for stadiums is luxury, not capacity. At the time they had already indicated the south endzone expansion was going to happen (a matter of when not if).

I'm not sure if it can be done. Possibly?

Recruits have to be in a seat during the game, I thnk. Otherwise, there would be recruits on the sidelines all the time.

I may be completely wrong though.

There's not enough space, they'd have to close that road.

I would like to see a bigger video board that's not covered in ads, though. I understand they gotta make money, but this is embarrassing.

Can you imagine how hot it would get in that stadium if they closed in the north end zone?

No shite. I said the same thing in another thread when someone suggested they put a canopy/roof over the upper decks like they have in Seattle. My comment was they might as well just put EMS on every isle of the East Upper for a day game. We get the sun for the longest period of time. With the SEZ closed off now a fricking roof would make it a death box.

That's not the current video board btw, they extended it on both sides last season (look at the picture I posted to note difference). But I agree those ads are ridiculous

The best was last year. They supposedly had to give McDonald's, Capital One, Verizon, etc, their allocated 2 ads on the scoreboards as per their contract. As you know, LSU took down the SEZ board for the construction so LSU rolled out this shite fest.

B 13.7.5.2

athletics events during the official visit shall be confined to the prospect,
his/her parents (or legal guardians) and spouse. Such admissions may
provide seating only in the general seating area. Providing seating for the

press box, special seating box(es), or bench area is specifically prohibited.

I know, it's just too depressing to see all the ads on the current board.

There was lightning during a game and it didn't strike this abomination? God hates LSU.

Does anyone think the SEC Network will hurt attendance ? Every game will now be televised in HD and game will have later and later start times in the future. Alone with the normal early game.

Most likely. I think the advent of ESPN3 has hurt to a point. A full fledged network that will allow all remaining games to be televised should do some noticeable damage.

Yes. Honestly, I do not understand LSU's expansion. Their stadium looks about 40% full for most games and maybe 80% for the big ones except AU or Bama.

And I get that a lot of people buy tickets and don't go and even more leave early, but still the trend is going to be decreasing attendance for the foreseeable future.

I agree. The television event has definitely caught up to the in-person event and in many way surpassed it. A place like LSU relies heavily on people willing to drive over an hour just to get to campus. Pair that with another hour just to get off of campus after the game and it adds up to people not wanting to deal with it. It was a lot more desirable when it was either go to the game or listen on the radio. Now even the trailer parks have 65" flat screens.
