Chuck's is great. Have heard Evangeline's is pretty good too but I haven't made it there yet (fwiw)

I will be labeled an apostate, but Momma G's may be the most overrated place in Auburn.

As to old frickers, it would be hard to imagine a place changing more -- especially from a restaurant and bar scene -- than Auburn from when I was there 86-90 to today. I wouldn't know about any of these places (plus Amsterdams, Hamiltons, etc.) if I had not continuously had at least one child as a student at Auburn going back to 2013 (with 3 more years to go!).

The Shrimp and Grits at City Grocery are the fricking bomb. City Grocery is owned by Chef John Currence (James Beard award winner) who is originally from NOLA. Boure' is another awesome restaurant of his if you're looking for a more creole spread.
