How is coming in 1st place a "moral victory"? Sometimes people just throw out cliches so often that they don't even know what they mean.
A moral victory would be coming in second.
a moral victory is winning a contest put out by MTV

Agreed. Athens and Oxford are both the top 2. Its a fairly large gap between these two and Gainesville and especially Knoxville.

I think, technically, it's all 4 against each other. You aren't voting for Oxford vs Athens and Knoxville vs Gainesville.
....it's Oxford vs Athens vs Knoxville vs Gainesville.

Whoa why is everyone hating on us?? Haha. I thoroughly enjoy myself every time I go to Athens. But I would much rather go to school in Oxford. My opinion of course, not that it matters.

no hate. oxford is a great town. its just silly its ahead of athens

Oxford would be tough to beat on a per capita basis. It's truly one of the greatest non beach or non tourist small towns in America (under 25,000 population). Athens is better overall but it's also 6 times larger than Oxford.

Tuscaloosa shits on Oxford and Knoxville

those look fair to me....BR certianly isn't and shouldn't be in the mix.
YOu mean other than the fact that it's a city and not a town?

To bad CarryTheFail isn't here any more. I am sure we would hear all about Knoxville.
But I think Athens, out of these should be at the top, Personally. However, being an Aub, and only going during the AU/GA game, I have had bad times each and everytime. But that is related more towards some very ignorant people.

i mean i would like to hear more about the "Mecca" of college football and see if the next time he makes his pilgrammage if i could come with him and hopefully lay sacrifices at the alter of Neyland.
anyway, homer or not athens is just great. i hate we can't be good sports to everyone because typically where i am there is no trouble unless you are an obnoxious arse razzing the dawg fans.
unfortunately for the barners such as yourself it won't be too much better. other fans it will he, lowered expectations will make us nicer, but the whole 2010 game episode will bring out some of our nutcases.
but hey if yall come up i'd buy yall a beer

The last time we were there, I thought for sure we would have some civil fans near us. I had 2 parking passes and tickets for the presidents club lots and seats. I thought for sure since these people had enough money to make some very large donations that they would be civil. Boy was I ever wrong. Almost got beat up in the parking lot for taking up two spaces(one to park, One to tailgate), which I had two parking passes, and everyone around had 2-4 saved empty spots/ no passes. Then while going to our seat my wife was spit on by a 5-7 year old as his mom cheared.
Oh well, Athens looks like a good town, and it is probably more the rivalry.

eh we all have our idiots. my first trip to AU last seaosn wasn't bad really. most of your fans were respectful actually. i came away with a good perception. but the backlash kind of killed that.
hopefully you have a better time this year. i'd like to think we are better hosts than that. i mean kids spitting is pretty dang embarrassing. only time i have really seen fans that bad is when i went to psu, at GA/FLA, and whenever we play LSU. lsu, uf, and psu have just some a** hats for fans
