I’m not sure if they do anymore. Just looked up the last name on the student directory and got no hits.

Stalking Sankey's daughters on the Student directory. That's not creepy at all...

MSU fans were getting extremely irked at OM's rapid rise to success.

They were under probation during our rise.

I do agree with your overall theory about the mindset of your average Mississippian but it doesn't really check out considering the circumstances. MSU was still hot during our rise and both of us ranked in the top 5 at the same time.

I guess once you've literally cried for an entire year, you aren't really can't embarrass yourself any more.

True, but OM was the one getting multiple 5 stars and beating Bama. It was a more glitzy and exciting way to rise to the top. Mullen is many things, but I wouldn't say 'glitzy' or 'exciting' are two of them.

I think we're about to segway into Bourbons soon.

Btw anyone here get sucked into those "Bespoke.com" ads on facebook? One of those monthly boxes type deals and their stuff actually looks really nice. Opt out any time so I went ahead and got the first box which was a traveler's bag that I was already looking for.

Trying to figure out if I want to stick with it or not.

Yeah we were definitely a popular team for those two years. But this is the most "little-brother" thing ever if that's where the toxicity came from.

The only ones crying about the toxicity are OP fans because they lost this year.

Well the OP is an MSU fan so we're definitely in agreement that MSU fans stay in a perpetual state of losing.

Here is what you need to know about the Ole Miss-Mississippi State rivalry. These are facts that cannot be disputed by anyone, and have been proven out time after time since the early 70s:

The rivarly is peaceful and serene when State sucks. The moment State has a little bit of success, Ole Miss fans lose their minds.

Everything was copacetic when Croom was walking the sidelines. When we fired Croom and Houston Nutt ran his mouth about being the only program on the rise in Mississippi, Mullen didn't take it silently. He kicked Nutt's arse two years in a row and told him about it. Ole Miss got into such a tizzy that they mobilized "Forward Rebels," hired Hugh Freeze, and went all in. Lo and Behold, they get busted for cheating three years later. What do they do? Blame Mullen. In reality, he was reacting to a bully trying to be a bully and it sent them over the edge.

Same thing with Jackie Sherrill. State goes to three straight bowl games and wins the SEC West (clinching on the Reb's home field) and it sends them into a tailspin. Boosters hire private investigators to follow around Sherrill and inundate the NCAA with every little thing they find. When the NCAA comes to investigate, a female booster has an affair with him, influencing him during the process. State ended up getting busted for paying for summer school for a player or something similar, but they went through a three year NCAA colonoscopy, just because success for MSU was untenable in Oxford. How did that story end? Well, they went all-in while we were being investigated and ended up getting the worst penalties handed out since SMU at the time.

History repeats itself in this rivalry. State lets them bully....all good. State pushes back, they cry foul. State has some success, they go full retard. They end up getting hammered, and it's all State's fault. This is why the rivalry can never be civil.

Someone like pankreb will reply with his bullshite, but it won't be supported by the facts. I've given you the facts and they can't be disputed in any way.

It really is some outstanding work.

Tell someone "These are the facts".
Only include facts that make your school look good and the rival look bad.
Include things that are rumors and...by definition...not actual a fact.
Remind someone that "these are the facts".
And then close it with "Such and such poster will respond to this but I'm going to go ahead and discredit it because I've just given you facts and they absolutely can't be disputed."

Well considering I said that the fans were the ones losing and the only thing you're able to point to is the scoreboard....thanks for confirming my statement.
