SEC-Related: Did Alabama truly break Texas?

Ever since Alabama won the national championship in the 2009 season ("only because Colt got hurt"), Texas has had the following seasons:
5-7 (2-6)
8-5 (4-5)
9-4 (5-4)
8-5 (7-2)
6-7 (5-4)
currently 1-4 (0-2)
That's a cumulative record of 36-32 and a conference record of 23-23 over that same span.
They're now on their third athletic director over that timeframe and second coach (possibly third soon).
I'm racking my brain trying to think of another instance in which one program literally broke another...besides Alabama breaking UAB of course...

Muschamp broke Texas, he pushed Brown to let him have more input in regards to game planning once McCoy left - when that resulted in the worst season of the Brown Era he bailed before his incompetence became too obvious.

No, because Bama would have lost by 50 if Colt McCoy hadn't suffered that horrific career ending bruise on his shoulder pads.......

I would have said no, but the Bama/Texas game seems to make a good case for it.

In a way they did. Texas came out and announced Muschamp would be the coach in waiting and Mack didn't take kindly to that at all. Mack got lazy in recruiting and was gonna leave Muschamp a mess. Thats why Will bolted from Texas. I dont think the coach in waiting thing happens if the horns dont get drummed by Bama.
Now Miami, Bama did break. People forget how dominant they had been in the 80's and had already won a title in the 90's and Bama smoked em. The U went down big time from 93-2000. Yes, they came back for a couple years but have not been "THE U" since that night in Jan 93 in the Superdome.
Also, Colorado broke Nebraska with that 63 to whatever drubbing in 99 I believe it was. Nebraska has had a year or two sprinkled in but have not been the consistant title contender since Colorado left that carnage that day.
Other notables:
UCLA losing to Miami in 98 killed the Bruins
North Carolina getting beaten by Maryland in 83 ended their top 10 days. I believe Carolina was 1 or 2.

You could make a case that A&M broke Kansas State in 1998.
The pieces all fell into place for a Kansas State/Tennessee national title game...including UCLA losing to Miami. KSU had a 15 point lead entering the 4th quarter and lost in double overtime. Then they proceeded to get beaten by Purdue and Drew Brees in the Alamo Bowl.
In fact, KSU never won a BCS bowl in the BCS-era, losing both Fiesta Bowls.
The Big 12 had to establish a rule after the 1998 season that the Big 12 title game loser could fall no further than the Cotton Bowl.

It wasn't the game. It was Mack Brown.
That game led Mack Brown to question if the type of O he had been running could win championships. He changed (or, at least, wanted to change) his philosophy on O from West Coast, to Spread, to Smash Mouth (after Bama beat them). They didn't have the recruits to run smash mouth, which led to losing, which led to trouble recruiting, which led to more losing.
The Texas fall is on Mack Brown, but it started when he got dominated by Bama and tried to change everything as a result.

I'm sorry, but Alabama didn't make Mack Brown want to change his offensive philosophy because of one game.
A game he would have won if his QB didn't get hurt.

Alabama wore down Texas' defense over the course of that game.
The game was 3-0 when Colt McCoy left the game and Texas hadn't advanced past the Alabama 30.
