I do understand the importance of Bama-Tenn and AU- UGA. so something would need to be figured out I don't know if this is the answer.
9 game schedule is the only way to make everyone happy, including the fans. 12 years between game with UGA/USCe/Tenn isn't acceptable and Bama-Tenn/AU-UGA isn't going to be given up.
ETA: And those 4 teams being the only ones with permanent opponents isn't going to fly either.

As I said before Bama-Tenn/UGA-AU aren't going to give up that game every year and you can't have those 4 teams being the only ones with permanent cross division opponents. That means they either go to a 9 game schedule or stay at 8, which many fans aren't too happy with because of the time between home games with each team from the other division.

Let's hear your solution then

We shouldn't have expanded in the first place, but now it should stay the way it is

You just proved my point for me. The only choice the conference has (if they want to keep everything as fair as possible) is to either keep it at 8 games with 1 permanent and 1 rotating, or go to 9 games with 1 permanent and 2 rotation.
If your ok with Bama/LSU/aTm only coming to Athens once every 12 years then it works. Personally I want to LSU to host UGA/USCe/Tenn more that.

With the 4 team playoff I think the sec would still get in with 2 losses most year.

If LSU has a NC worthy team they won't lose 2 games so I don't have to worry about that.

I hate it when LSU plays cupcakes. I would rather them play one "good" OOC game at a neutral site (Oregon @ Cowboys stadium, Wisonsin @ Reliant and @ Lambeau), 1 more SEC team, a state team (I want LSU to renew the series with Tulane), and 1 cupcake.

From UGA's perspective, we need to keep the DSOR so the permanent opponents need to stay. In terms of number of games, the 9-game model restricts UGA's scheduling flexibility too much with the GT rivalry and a traditional neutral site conference game, both of which are valued traditions.
I'm ok with playing West teams less if it means we can keep the other benefits.

I can see why you want to stay at 8 games. It's going to be different with each fan, but there are still only 2 viable options. Neither is going to make everyone happy, but they are the only way to keep everything fair.
I think it stays at 8 games too. I just don't like it.

I would be fine with this. I prefer watching LSU play teams with a pulse.

Like I said before, if LSU has a NC quality team they will lose 1 game at most. 2011 was a NC quality team and they blew the doors off of every team they played except Bama (including Big East Champ at their house and Pac-12/Rose Bowl champ @ Cowboys stadium).

So let's see, 5 of the 6 tradiotional powers in 1 side, seems legit.

We're going to a 9 game schedule with 1 permanent opponent.
That's the way the wind's blowing and it will be fine.

SEC headquarters would probably be best in Nashville. Give all the cry babies less iratation. Bless their hearts!
