SEC Pod System Thoughts.

This could work. Goal is to create a great schedule.
4 Pods
West - Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri.
Southwest - LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.
Southeast - Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.
East - Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Kentucky.
*Play each team in your pod.
*One rivalry game from outside your pod:
Bama vs. LSU
Texas vs. A&M
Auburn vs. Georgia
Tennessee vs. Florida
Arkansas vs. Ole Miss
Kentucky vs. Missouri
South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt
Mississippi State vs. Oklahoma
*8 game SEC Schedule - Everyone has 3 permanent opponents, 1 rivalry game, with the other 4 games rotating every two years amongst the other 12 teams… Every team in conference is played at least one time every 4 years.

Dumb, and no. Tell UTx and OU to work out their own difficulties. If this happens, we are probably working towards 2-3 super conferences. Together with NIL, it will become unwatchable.

LSU's traditional rival in this scenario would be Arkansas to keep that boot thing going.

Bama fans tell me Bama/LSU isn’t a rivalry. Since they’re so adamant, keep them off our schedule

The SEC is going to have to go to 9 games if the other expand and play 9 ( many already play 9)
So have a permanent rival from each pod and you can keep all kind of rivalries.

Do away with the mandated rivalry games outside the pod

I personally would hate to see these games not played annually. Fun and entertaining!
