And while I really despise the Vols and that is what my heart would like, doesn’t Ole Miss need Tennessee to win to get Georgia out of the picture completely?

The worst result for Ole Miss is probably a narrow UT loss. I still think that’s enough to get us past them on resume but it’s less secure than a UT win. Most likely the loser of that game will be behind Ole Miss regardless, though.

Definitely yes.

If Georgia beats Tennessee (and Texas wins out) the committee would likely be ranking 4 SEC teams into 3 playoff spots. Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Ole Miss.

The 4 would be hard to separate by losses (all pretty circular) and the committee would likely start looking at the list of quality wins. Georgia would be top of that list. Alabama likely 2nd with the win over Georgia and @LSU. It would probably come down to Ole Miss or Tennessee as both would have a similar marquee win but a little unclear after that

Tennessee: 1. Alabama 2. ?@Vanderbilt 3. ?NC ST

Ole Miss: 1 Georgia 2. @South Carolina 3. ?@ Florida

OM two losses by 6 pts.

Shouldn’t have lost… OM controlled both those games.

But it is clear OM just dominated UGA.

OM on pace to have its 3rd 10 win season in 4 years.

When GA beats TN

Precisly, WHEN. Not IF.

That game is a foregone conclusion.

If Texas loses to A&M there is no beauty in their season. 5-5 Michigan 5-5 OU 6-4 Vandy only win Vs team with winning record at this time. Could easily end up 6-6. Loser of our game is eliminated.

No beauty in a win over A&M either.

No team should ever make the cfp without a single Top 25 win. That would be insane.
So punishing a team because their schedule includes teams who should be and usually are top 25 (or higher) but aren't, and for some of them that is due to a loss to said team.

Got it.

If y’all can’t figure out how to beat A&M, you shouldn’t be in. Can’t go 0-2 against your only opponents with a pulse when the teams around you actually have quality wins.
