But if they're gonna dish punishment after the fact, do it all the way. If you got players gouging at eyes, that was missed and there's video evidence,
I'd imagine that won't get glossed over. Hell, we were shocked when Elston got suspended earlier in the year. No flag on that play.

If your conclusion is any indication, it's obvious you haven't watched it. Watch the video in the OP's article. It's in slow motion so maybe your brain will have time to catch up.
Dial lowers his shoulder and uses his forearm and shoulder to hit Murray in the chest. Then his head hits Murrays facemask. He did not lead with his head. Murray was not a defenseless player. Clean hit.

I was in the deer woods during the game and missed all but the last few minutes. I am curious to see what the penalty looked like that was called on Ga player hitting McArron.
I have looked at the hit on Murray and there is no doubt in my mind a helmet to head penalty should have ensued. Anyone have the link to the McCarron hit?

Well, the SEC office says you're wrong. That's all that really matters here.

SEC didn't suspend Cam for taking $180k so I doubt they will suspend anyone in a NC situation.

I could watch that gif all day. Great block!

You are a moron, the tackle was being made as he hit him...Murray was joggin for christs sake, its ok to block, that was a fricking blind sided, helmet to helmet (whether he led with his shoulder or not, the helmets hit) blasts on a QB not even a threat to the carrier. The logic you guys are losing here is flawed. Its a losing battle...let it go. IT was dirty. period

Why not try to block #71 on UGA
Because Square(92) was about to block him. You see him raise his hand to HCD to run off his block.

doesn't matter. dial lead with the head and hit him in the helmet
Sorry, but's that not the rule. In order for it to be a penalty it either has to be either:
1. Leading with the crown of the helmet
or
2. Contact above the shoulders on a player who is obviously out of the play

Dial was head hunting, found the QB and did his best to try to take him out.
I am not trying to argue against that. I wasn't too happy when I saw the replay of the hit because even *I* thought it was dirty. But I also thought he led with his shoulder and that's why it wasn't called. Remember there was an official right behind the hit.

I agree with your argument and I hate that aggressive play is being taken away from modern football. However SEC officials have released a statement that a flag should have been thrown, so I am not sure you can just dismiss it as a "clean" hit.

this would be an interesting case study on 'peoples ability to see what's really happening, as opposed to seeing what they want to believe.'
Happens in sports all time.
Literally, any non-biased person in the world, can look at the .gif and see Dial lead with the crown of his helmet and hit Murray's Neck/Jaw.

You are wrong. If anything there is a simultaneous
collision between helmet to chin and forearm to chest. Result should have been a helmet to helmet.

suppose he will get the same penalty as the UGA player that hit McCarron?
I agree with this. Penalty should have been called... wasn't. Not the players fault.. If the league suspends him they should also suspend the Georgia player who first laid an equally vicious h2h hit on McCarron.
