Nah, he is whatever gets him the most interaction and ratings. I listed to him locally on this ancient device called a radio back in the 90's when Bama was cycling through coaches. Should have heard the Mike Price era or Francione era. He was not kind to bama or their rabid fans but it made for jerry springer level entertainment.
When bama came to prominence and he was hired by SEC he changed his tune to suck off bama and piss off everyone else. That is his angle. I don't know that he even cares about football that much.
