So Burton was intoxicated when he took a swing at a college age girl? That’s the defense of this now?
Are you really so fricking stupid that you can't even read? Never mind...I know the answer to that question.
Listen fricktard, where in the frick did I suggest that a player on the field was actually drunk? I was talking about the potential for altercations with drunk fans, dipshit.
How in God's name can you possibly be so fricking stupid???
Again, since I'm obviously talking to someone who rode to school on the short bus...

In all seriousness, complaining about field storming is on par with the blue hairs that get mad at students for standing during a game instead of sitting there quiet.

The privet hedges were newborn still after Olympics. I think they also added the chain link fence in the middle of it afterwards. You will not be having a good night if you are try going over or through them these days.
The fence was in them the night the field was stormed.

The SEC already does this.
Obviously not big enough, they were fined $100,000. Make it several million dollars or more. Tennessee was willing to pay the $100,000 fine, they all but invited the fans to rush the field during the game week. They publicized having ordered new goal posts. A $5,000,000 fine might have discouraged that line of thinking on their part. Have the fines be increased for repeat offenders.

Another fricktard who's too stupid to grasp the fact that people have already been seriously hurt by storming fans.
One was a reporter, dumbass.
You literally have shite for brains.

A HS basketball game and a reporter who got tripped?
Thanks Karen.

Thanks Karen.

The horseback cops are a tradition in Jacksonville. Or at least they were when I went to UF in the '80s. I'm always asked by people to compare OU-TX to GA-FL and the the cops on horseback thing was the one thing that I thought was way cooler about the Cocktail Party compared to the Red River game. There are things I think that make Red River better but those cops coming out on horses is really impressive.

Had to go back and watch the video: First it is crazy how much video has improved in 20 yrs. How the hell did we watch anything back then and how does a 2000 game look exactly like a 1980 game in quality. Second: the hedges were pretty wobbly in that video which they certainly aren't now and even then it looked like most went the endzone route. I guess widening them made them more stout. They also are higher now.

Every time I see someone whining about storming the field

Auburn used water hoses. Maybe they could be in charge?

I was on the field as even staff, and we were very concerned about the fence creating enough of a barrier to cause a crush situation. We actually discussed this due to several fans getting crushed to death at another stadium. I think that it was Wisconsin's stadium, but my memory may be faulty.

This is the key, when the SEC starts laying down fines in the millions I bet the schools will start getting a bit more serious about it.
There was a Hogs game back in the 90's.. I think we were playing Texas or it might have been Tennessee, they brought horses in for the last 5 minutes of the game.. seeing them lined up circling the field was impressive.. so much so it kind of damped the excitement in the stadium. I don't think anybody wants to get their arse stomped in by a horse.. no matter how excited you are.

Oh, you tear them up after wins.
Still not an obstacle, then. So my point stands.

How often does this really happen, though? A genuine, grassroots field rushing?
VOLS have only had 2 rushes of the football field in my lifetime that I'm aware of, and they were nearly 25 years apart. Apparently, we also rushed the basketball court in 2006 after beating Florida, but 3 times in the last 30-40 years isn't what I would call "commonplace."
I could understand ramping up huge fines if people started doing it yearly, but give it a 10 year statute of limitation or something.
The passion is a major part of what makes college football the best.

No it doesn't.You said we tear them up after we lose and I also said the hedges help...not a solution by itself.
2000 was an embarrassment to our fan base and I highly doubt it happens again. You should be embarrassed by yours

You said it couldn't happen at UGA, because of 'Muh Hedges'. My point was that they're not much of an obstacle.
Point stands, as evidenced by Georgia fans destroying them.
