See you are up early. Are you hitting any UK events in Lexington today?

Probably not today. Our company is having a site review with a major funder Monday-Thursday next week and I have a lot of PPT slides to put together, so I will be watching this weekend from home.

I always expect UGA to be the first to lose in something. Like to Boise State a few years ago.

Remaining percentages (based on how many got in from each conference) for conferences with at least 2 teams :

64 to 32 round
100.0% : 3-0 = 3 : SEC : --0-- / #1 Florida, #11 Tennessee, #8 Kentucky
75.00% : 4-1 = 3 : AAC : #5 Cincinnati / #4 Louisville, #7 Connecticut, #8 Memphis
66.67% : 6-2 = 4 : P12 : #8 Colorado, #10 Arizona State / #7 Oregon, #1 Arizona, #10 Stanford, #4 UCLA
66.67% : 6-2 = 4 : ACC : #12 NC State, #3 Duke, / #9 Pittsburgh, #3 Syracuse, #6 North Carolina, #1 Virginia
57.14% : 7-3 = 4 : B12 : #5 Oklahoma, #9 Oklahoma State, #9 Kansas State / #7 Texas, #6 Baylor, #2 Kansas, #3 Iowa State
50.00% : 6-3 = 3 : B1G : #11 Iowa, #6 Ohio State, #11 Nebraska / #2 Michigan, #2 Wisconsin, #4 Michigan State
50.00% : 4-2 = 2 : B E : Xavier, #11 Providence / #2 Villanova, #3 Creighton
50.00% : 2-1 = 1 : MWC : #7 New Mexico / #4 San Diego State
50.00% : 2-1 = 1 : WCC : #10 BYU / #8 Gonzaga
33.33% : 6-4 = 2 : A10 : #10 Saint Joseph's, #8 Massachusetts, #9 George Washington, #5 VCU / #5 Saint Louis, #11 Dayton

32 to 16 round
100.0% : 3-0 = 3 : SEC : --0-- // Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee
100.0% : 3-0 = 3 : B1G : --0-- // Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State
100.0% : 1-0 = 1 : MWC : --0-- // San Diego State
75.00% : 4-1 = 3 : P12 : Oregon // Stanford, UCLA, Arizona
66.67% : 3-1 = 2 : AAC : Memphis // Louisville, Connecticut
50.00% : 4-2 = 2 : B12 : Texas, Kansas // Iowa State, Baylor
50.00% : 2-1 = 1 : A10 : Saint Louis // Dayton
25.00% : 4-3 = 1 : ACC : Pittsburgh, Syracuse, North Carolina // Virginia
00.00% : 2-2 = 0 : B E : Villanova, Creighton //
00.00% : 1-1 = 0 : WCC : Gonzaga //

overall
100.0% : 3-0 = 3 : SEC : #1 Florida, #8 Kentucky, and #11 Tennessee
50.00% : 6-3 = 3 : B1G : #2 Michigan, #2 Wisconsin, #4 Michigan State
50.00% : 6-3 = 3 : P12 : #10 Stanford, #4 UCLA, and #1 Arizona
50.00% : 4-2 = 2 : AAC : #4 Louisville and #7 Connecticut
50.00% : 2-1 = 1 : MWC : #4 San Diego State
28.57% : 7-5 = 2 : B12 : #3 Iowa State and #6 Baylor
16.67% : 6-5 = 1 : A10 : #11 Dayton
16.67% : 6-5 = 1 : ACC : #1 Virginia
00.00% : 4-4 = 0 : B E : none make Sweet Sixteen
00.00% : 2-2 = 0 : WCC : none make Sweet Sixteen

So far A10, ACC, Big East and Big 12 got too many bids. SEC and AAC got to few.

UGA is the first team to lose in the bowl season and the tournament season. I say one year ban from postseason play.

I wonder how this will get spinned by ESPN now with the SEC holding 18.75% of the places in the Sweet 16.

Not possible. We were told by the talking heads only Florida had a chance in this thing.

That may still be the reality, but the preseason #1 is still playing, as well as a Vol team that is peaking at the right time.

To be fair, we were playing Illinois Freaking State on the ROAD. It's not easy to walk into that meat grinder and get a W.

Did the entire SEC get bounced from the NIT?

I guess maybe it really was just Florida, Kentucky, and UT that were any good.

No...did the thought ever occur to you that UGA was probably disappointed in not making the NCAAs and then had half hearted posture in NIT? Not saying that's good mind you...but it happenes and the point is that the SEC should have had more teams in the NCAA. Hell...look at the Big Ten and ACC for strong arguments why the SEC deservewd better treatment.

On another tangent..UF plays UCLA and UK plays their tough instate rival Louisville...if UK escapes that game...look out. I wanted to see UF play UCONN or Wiscy somewhere in the tourney since we barely loss to them early in the season shorthanded without Wilbekin.

Go Cats, Vols and Gators.
