UGA and Cocks would be good programs. Both states have really good high school LAX.

Doesn't even compare to states like Maryland. Lacrosse takes priority over everything else up there, it's nuts.

States with the best athletes would still win, just gràb an established coaching staff.

Precisely. Never seen anything like it.

He was pointing out it simply wasn't the case. Its very big in metro areas in the south (Atlanta,Houston,DFW,etc) but probably not so much in rural Kentucky.
It isn't big in those metro areas, which is what I was pointing out. Not even remotely close to how big it is in the aforementioned states I laid out. Not even remotely close.

Also lmao at "rural Kentucky." You have Atlanta. Louisville and Lexington are both larger than your next most populous cities. And no one gives a rip about LAX in either.

Exactly like I said. Now maybe LAX is super popular down there in Atlanta but no one in rural Georgia gives a rip about it.

Yankees and coastal states are all I see with any amount of demand for it.

Yes, but Maryland isn’t in the SEC.

Some of the club programs require kids to sign a "no other sport" commitment...it is year round indoor/outdoor

Good athletes will do well in lacrosse no matter where they are from if coached well. The most decorated player in D1 lacrosse this year was from Dallas and she played on the National Champion Boston College team. So the talent is here in the South, albeit not yet widespread.

One problem for high school lacrosse in the South is spring training for football, which would take precedence for many potential lacrosse players. This is not the case for most high school programs in traditional lacrosse playing states where lacrosse trumps football.l

Lax is actually a pretty damn physical sport and is a much better secondary sport for football players than baseball or basketball,
I seem to remember a pretty decent football player who was also decent at lacrosse.

Former UGA coach, Billy O’Haire, was my son’s club coach last year. The talent in metro Atlanta, Florida, and North Carolina is excellent so I don’t think it would take long for the SEC to field good teams, but catching up with the ACC would take a while. Half the ACC don’t field teams but the other half is phenomenal. Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee are behind but getting better. At this time USC has the best club team. There are huge number of competitive D2 and D3 in the southeast, and that’s where most of the kids are going.

The SEC already has a ton of lacrosse teams at the club level. All at various stages of development and organization. Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, MSU, UT, Vandy, Georgia and Florida all field pretty competitive teams. Florida and maybe Vanderbilt could probably jump to D1 lacrosse tomorrow.

That map isn’t close to being accurate.
It says Texas has zero HS LAX players?
My nephew plays middie for his HS team and is currently being recruited by multiple collegiate programs.
Many Texas HSs have LAX teams.
