I call BS on your thread title.
SEC had 14% of the bids (9 out of 64)
37.5% of the final 16 (6 of 16)
At least 25% of the CWS (2 of 8) with one slot left.
SEC is not overrated but there are a lot of good teams around the country and there is parity due to scholarship limits.

I think there’s a trend of the SEC valuing anyone who can throw 95+ over guys who can actually throw strikes and get guys out. Our lineup looks confused when they face a guy who consistently throws strikes and doesn’t gift us base runners.
I can confirm we have an 80%/3yr offer out to a guy right now that throws 90+ with little to no idea where it's going... not even the best pitcher on his HS team but has the highest velo.
...and yes he has offers from other SEC schools.

Besides Wicklander, DVH struggled to find a Saturday starter. When he did, they didn't have the consistency to make it past the fifth innings or so without some type of meltdown. Injuries didn't help.
Looking from an unbiased perspective, Arkansas had good talent but nothing on an elite level. The bats were mostly hot for most of the season and Kopps winning key games gave Arkansas an unexpected season.

I think there is something to be said for this. I think Alan Dunn kind of saw this, but he still had issues with finding pure strike throwers. A guy with stuff like Hilliard that can throw strikes more consistently than Hilliard did would win a lot of games in the SEC.
Conversely I think this is why you see more upper class SEC players able to layoff hard sliders that break out of the zone more than some others.

I agree. See Doug Nikhazy's performance against Arizona.

I think SEC is the best league and very strong. However I think that the rankings are slanted too far in the SEC’s favor because of the circular computer ratings.
It gives the impression that the SEC is utterly dominate while the truth is, the margins are very thin in a sport like baseball.

37.5% of the teams in Omaha from the conference that only had 14% of the bids.
Still say the conference is overrated?

The rest of the Big 12 did terrible. And I couldn't be happier.
