I don't want to take the time to analyze other schools, but at Bama... the most popular majors are:

Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services 29%
Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs 10%
Health Professions and Related Programs 9%
Education 8%
Family and Consumer Sciences/Human Sciences 7%

Most of these would not exactly be considered super high paying jobs. Churn out reporters, teachers, nurses, and counselors, and that's what you get.

My Bama degree was Applied Physics and I'm doing significantly better. It is what it is.

LSU has a med school, law school, dental school, vet school and The Ourso MBA program. I sort of assumed this was the norm for all ( or most) flagship universities, but recently learned that Arky has no Vet or Dental school. What about other SEC schools?

UGA has no medical school, no dental school, engineering school is three years old. I am surprised we beat many of the other schools considering how lacking our graduate schools are.

Damn, I didn't know that, I'm very surprised. What system is your med & dental school in? Or are they their own entity?

For example, the LSU System consists of:

LSU Flagship (Baton Rouge)
LSU Law School
LSU Med/Dental School (New Orleans)
LSU Med School (Shreveport)
LSU Pennington Biomedical Research Center
LSU Shreveport (Satellite Campus)
LSU Eunice (Satellite Campus)
LSU Alexandria (Satellite Campus)
LSU Agricultural Center
LSU Healthcare Services (10 hospitals)

This is highly misleading. 10 years after graduating in what degree?

Our medical programs are not even a part of UGA they are under Georgia Regents University (GRU). GRU is a completely separate public four year university. For example, GRU has a medical school, nursing school, Dental School, cancer centers, trauma centers, etc. The Georgia board of regents kept it all separate. There are tons of political implications here in Georgia. GT doesn't want to let others have a engineering school. For the longest time UGA has been fighting for it's own engineering school and finally after decades they finally got one 3 years ago. GRU will do whatever it takes to make sure Georgia only has one public medical school.

Personal not business.....

If business income is on your 1040 then you own the business or part of it making it your's personally.... How old are you?

Exactly.

People with a PHD, PE, etc. from these so called most affluent colleges work for someone else who has to report their income or they feel that they must let everyone know that they make this so it backs up that little title behind their name.

I.E. MSU alum in the MS Delta living in nice house on 5k acres with 5 mill worth of equipment... He's been making 30k for the last 5 years just because his UM accountant(who makes 70k per year) tells him he needs to at least make that much

It doesn't get more offseason than mid-career salary threads and academic rankings

This looks at undergrad degrees only. Bottom line is an undergrad degree is more valuable from Vandy than from Bama. They get better jobs and are accepted at a higher rate than from other schools. Not surprising and consistent with other studies.
