Which school has the BEST FAN TRADEMARKS? Whether it’s a certain gesture, a signature cheer, or a particular method of creating noise, these items are inseparable from the fan base that made them famous – or infamous. #1 -- Florida (Gator Chomp) #2 -- Arkansas (Hog Call) #3 -- Mississippi State (Cowbells)

Who has the best MASCOT PARTICIPATION/ENTRANCES?

Every school has a mascot, of course, but some are more readily identified with their institution than others. We also admit to being somewhat partial to the live ones.

#1 -- Georgia
#2 -- Auburn

You’re telling me a bulldog that does nothing but sit on the sideline and is in his air conditioned dog house is better than an eagle soaring around the stadium and landing at the 50 yard line?

Florida stole the Gator Chomp from Mississippi State. Weird story.

It works way better for Florida than State, however.

I agree that would be great.

Back in the early 80s UH had a live cougar named Shasta and it was on the sidelines. I may be speaking out my backside because I was really young at the time, but I think that the cougar attacked someone and that was the end of the live cougar.

Cue Ricky Bobby trapping a live cougar.

ETA that cougar didn't attack anyone but it became very difficult to handle and was retired early. From Wikipedia:

quote:

IV was purchased as a young cub and was initially easy to handle by the guard members at that time, but she became more and more difficult as those members left the guard or graduated. It was almost impossible for new members to handle her. She was retired when it got to the point where only a handful of guard members were left who could handle her.[2]

maybe I remembered some stories about the difficulty? But live mascots are awesome.

In the link they are not ranked, just in tiers. The op just added ranks. It even says that the tiers are not intended of putting one schools traditions in front of another.
