tell me who our Heismen candiate was. LSU's biggest star was Dorsey.
For one what do you mean by championship years? Do you mean the decade or just 2001,2003,2007?
The Heisman is overrated since it can only be won by basically a QB or RB.
2007 Stars:
Dorsey
Steltz
Highsmith
C. Jackson
C. Jones
Holliday(mainly high profile because of speed)
*The others were getting some type of All-American talk(1st,2nd,or freshman team)
2003:
Lavalais
Wilkerson
Vincent
Green
Clayton
Landry
Peterman
2001:
The Great Josh Reed

What is considered a star? I tried to only list the players that got national recognition those years in some form such as award lists and All-American teams. I think it is wrong to just say LSU won the championships without stars.
There were more players that were on all conference teams.
To win a championship you have to field great teams obviously. Almost all great teams have stars. Are you trying to say someone like Craig Steltz is not a star even though he was an All-American.
Most people considered Andre Smith a star. He was an All-American.

Cadillac
Did Cadillac get invited to NY for the Heisman? I am just saying we have had a shite ton of stars. We have a ton of running backs that primarily suffer from sharing the load.
The one thing we can say is that we have won three championships with NFL QBs just not the high draft pick ones. I think you are selling some of our talent short or you have a very high weird standard for a star.

We've finished 17 seasons now, and here's how it looks:

Tennessee 101-37-0 (2) .732

5. Tennessee 47-25 .653
So Phat Phil starts 54-12 (or better since 3 of the 1992 losses were Johnny Majors) in the first 8 years and finishes the last nine years at 47-25. I can't believe the AD let it slide that far. Everyone could see it after 2002.

tennessee: 50 drafted (8 1st rd, 10 2nd rd)
This drives me nuts. The most picks in either of the first two rounds and the most picks overall and all Phat Phil could come up with is a few losses to LSU in the SECCG.

You give ANY OTHER TEAM those individuals and that team goes over .500
I think a team having Hillis, Jones, McFadden, and Monk on offense should have brought home some serious team hardware.
You have to have 22 solid starters pus 22 good backups. Arky has never had the depth to be a SEC contender. A few stars don't make a great team.
You must be a piccalo player.

I'm guessing that includes the 8 games we had to forfeit in '93 per NCAA in the loss column.

Step One of winning a football game: field a team of eligible players. Sorry, Gumps.
