With NIL and a 9 game schedule, I think football is quickly morphing into basketball.

1-2 teams who will beat almost anyone
1-2 teams who will lose to almost anyone
12 teams who beat up on each other
Significant home vs road splits that equalize talent even more.

The goal now is just win your home games and go .500 on the road - 7-2 will get you a playoff spot most years. Lose 1 at home or 3 on the road and you still have a shot at 6-3.

That’s why Mizzou, Florida, LSU, and Ole Miss are all still alive if they go undefeated at home.

I'm just happy to have a lot of teams playing meaningful football in October.

If it means more high-quality games between bigger-profile teams? I'm all for it.

Like the SEC that got 14 teams into the tournament? Hell yeah!
