Cont score board thread…

If UGA were to lose to Bama (highly unlikely based on history) the. SEC could get zero byes and Big 10 get 3.

Top 4:
OSU
TT
Indiana
Oregon

Wishful. Possible. But not based on how they have been ranking to date.

The winner of the SEC Title game is a top 4 seed, If Bama wins they are 4, if UGA wins they will be a 2 Seed. What happens in the other games will determine the other top 4 Seeds. In a UGA SEC Champ scenario, Ohio State and IU are in the top 4, just depends where, whoever wins is 1st, loser is likely 3rd. If Bama wins the Title game, they are 4 and Ohio State and IU can still be 1 and 2. Texas Tech might be a 2 if Ohio State is the champ, I think 3rd if IU wins the BIG as the farthest Ohio State drops is 2.

What I think is hilarious is that baffoon Dabo who has one of the most talented rosters, right along an easy schedule, couldn't make the playoffs, but his former offensive coordinator with Virginia (picked to finish last in ACC) is probably going to make the playoffs.

The byes last year didn’t work very well for most teams that got them. Iron sharpens iron.
As long as you don’t have a devastating injury.
It is a little different this year with the seeding though.

Venable was defensive coordinator. That's why Ous offense sucked so bad.

Not so fast my friend: Straight from the CFP Chair

College Football Playoff selection committee chair Mack Rhoades discussed the effect appearing in a conference championship game could have on a team’s ultimate ranking.

The current Playoff setup sees the five highest-ranked conference champions being guaranteed a spot in the 12-team field. Of course, if a team is positioned for an at-large Playoff berth and loses its conference championship game, that doesn’t mean it’s automatically out of the running, Rhoades said in response to a question that was asked during the post-selection teleconference on Tuesday.

“We look at it as a positive if you’re playing in the championship game. It’s another datapoint. It’s certainly recognized when we think about record strength,” Rhoades said. “Obviously, you win it, that’s a plus. If you lose it, theoretically, it’s not supposed to hurt you.”

CFP also said they wouldn’t ignore the results of Championship games.

I know Bama still gets in..their head to head with Vandy would keep them in.
