Lets See.

Screwed up Schedules.
The appearance of Conference Unity.
SEC Chants
That the other 11 schools exist.
That we let Sewanee leave.
That we didn't kick GT out earlier

Probably, but there was a clear reason for the expansion: A CCG. I think most agree that having a divisional split and CCG is better than the old way.
was just about to say this.

For what purpose? And obviously game days are a lot different than others. And summer time is dead compared to Fall/Spring, etc.
i went to an LSU/Houston baseball game. Then went to Austin. Spent a night and day in College Station in between those two destinations.
It was spring time, not summer.

Welcome A&M! You guys are similar to UF in size and academic standing, so I think it is a great addition to the SEC. You have excellent overall athletics and your football is improving. Obviously people hate you so you are doing something right. Maybe some girl cheerleaders though. We have a rep in this conference to uphold in that only slightly less dominant than our football is our outstanding coeds. So get rid of the barbershop quartet and get some girls with big pom-poms!

They should have never been let in

And screw anyone who complains about their schedule. The SEC screwed us in '92 and took away our oldest rival. So screw everyone else!

Who was your oldest rival?
If you're talking about Auburn, they were your permanent opponent until 2003 when the SEC ditched two permanent divisional rivals.
We lost our Tennessee game back then, which had started to become one that I enjoyed.

This topic gets discussed a lot during bowl season in particular. Some people hate the SEC chant - others love it.

I completely understand why, but trading tradition for $$$ pisses me off sometimes ... like LSU having a home kickoff at 11:20am.

The series was not and has not been competitive at all, neither school was really upset when Slive axed it. Nothing like stopping a rivalry between the two winningest programs in the league.

My sunburn has me pretty pissed about our 230p kickoff on Saturday. Football should always be played at night, IMO.

Similar reaction to this.
Neither S. Carolina or Arkansas have won even a conference championship since being added, so there is not a lot of hatred towards either school now.

I'm pissed we have 13 teams and now our schedule is gonna be all fricked up
This is my main concern also. I would have preferred a simultaneous deal with 2 additions to maintain balance, for instance A&M and Missouri coming in together.

No I understand that. I was responding to the Gator who thinks he lost the AU game in 1992, when in fact they were permanent opponents thru 2002.
I remember it because we lost Tennessee as an opponent back then.

Actually, the refs are paid off by every team that plays LSU. Doesn't matter the team or the conference. EVERY ref is against LSU
The first step is to admit you have a problem. Good job there!

I will be pissed if we lose the LSU/Fla game every year. And the same thing if Auburn has to move to the East.
I don't like messing with a working status quo, when it is being done just for the sake of change.
HOWEVER, if you told me we had to take one more school, then I would pick A&M and will love that annual game b/t A&M and LSU. But on the other hand, y'all coming along also means a 14th member will come along, and there isn't a single school I can think of that I won't be disappointed in coming.
So this whole thing is a net loss for me.

This is definitely the right answer.
It has nothing to do with us having equal revenue sharing.

I was a student when the conference expanded. It didn't mean much to me at the time from an SEC standpoint because LSU S-U-C-K-E-D. We weren't even in the ballpark of a championship.
What it did do is put a crimp in our then non-conference rivalries: Florida State and Texas A&M... although I've heard the reason we stopped playing A&M (after '95) was to make our non-conference schedule easier and get an extra home game every other year.
