I'm not sure why Bama is fighting this battle. They have one of the deepest rosters in the country.
I think they have some bigs that are still on the shelf though.
And speaking to everyone, let's not all act like if it was our coach we wouldn't be defending them. Nate is paid to win, and we all want our coaches to do what it take to get those dubs. Personally, I want the NIL to go away and at the same time want our rich donors to give more.
I know, I am a total hypocrite. Guilty as charged.

I think you can get there. What specifically is unique about Bediako’s case?
The distinction is that he signed a contract.
However, in Sankeys affidavit he outlines the NCAA bylaw that states a player may not be eligible upon entering an agreement, either orally or written.
So the bylaw he’s referencing has already been proven to be moot since there are other players who have entered into agreements to play basketball for money.
Whether they signed a contract or not, there was an agreement in place to be paid to play.

What fine Updyke from the sidewalk fan battalion going to hang Sankey from a tree outside the SEC Office IN BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA?

Following the arguments on Twitter earlier and this jumped out at me. Bediako's lawyer said that Bediako earned $530,000 in the G-League. He later said that if he wasn't on a basketball scholarship, there is a good chance Bediako wouldn't be able to finish his degree because he couldn't afford the tuition.

Bediako's lawyer trying to tug on heart strings because his case is weak.
Oats already said if Bediako doesnt win the case he will remain by academic scholarship.

He was actually saying that a Bama degree is of such low value that any money spent on tuition would be irreparable harm.

Anyone fighting to continue the charade that college basketball players represent amateurism in any shape, form, or fashion is being willfully stupid.

to be clear, we didn't invent this whole concept.
We're just trying to take advantage of it like other teams already have.
Did other teams:
1. Get told no by the NCAA.
2. Use a local judge to allow them to play a player.
3. Put the player on the floor.
4. Delay the hearing multiple times to keep playing him?
Just to make sure it is apples to apples.
Give us a few more examples of this behavior. Since you did not “create this problem”.

How many games have we actually won with him, two?
Part of the reason we need warm bodies added to the roster at this point is because we've had more injuries than any team in roughly the Top 45.
I don't really think him playing here-on-out will matter all that much, unless we start getting players back that are 100%.

Good thing he made a public statement about the Texas judge that granted a TRO for the A&M player

Bediako signed a pro contract. He knew what he was doing. He knew the consequences. Now he’s butt hurt because as it turns out, he’s not good enough beyond college. And Nate Oates and his lack of moral compass is completely fine with blowing up the sport just as he was fine with playing an alleged murder accomplice. And bama fans lap it up, just as they did when saban and his jolly bag men were paying top dollar under the table to ensure just one more win.
This is what happens when a state has no professional sports, no culture, no education outside of their undying loyalty to one more win no matter what.

You just described what countless players have been doing.
Google Texas A&M's Rashaun Agee TRO just for example but it's so common you'll get similar stories for 26 year old Indiana football players like Louis Moore. There are literally hundreds . . .
They always first Get told no by NCAA
Then they fIle case to get a TRO with local judges because that's where the players reside
Then they play under the TRO
They appeal unless the case is already slated for after the season is over
Bediako's is simply higher profile because it could overturn the entire NBA draft bylaws (and interested Auburn fans).
