It'd be nice to repeat as SEC Champs but it is like kissing your cousin - fun but not much more meaningful than that....

I absolutely despise that the morons in charge have made me feel the same way. 10 years ago it would be unfathomable to suggest such a thing, considering "SEC Champions" was the 2nd highest honor that could be achieved in all of CFB.

But sadly this is correct...it really doesn't serve much purpose these days to get beat up for another week for the miniscule tradeoff of having a first round bye. Either way you're getting an extra week of rest, just one comes earlier than the other. If we sat out last year's SECCG who knows how far we would've gone with a healthy Beck at QB. Assuming we got the 5 slot we had already whipped the shite out of clemson earlier and it's laguhable to think ASU would have beaten us. OSU would have beat us but we'd have advanced a lot farther than we did IRL, imo

Not happening. The SECCG will be 2 of Bama, Ole Miss, Georgia, and A&M.

I still think we beat the Ags but no way we win @ georgia. Kirby owns Sark.

It can possibly earn you a top 4 seeding and a bye while the only likely way you could be left out or your spot made worse is if a team not in yet won their conference game which would have happened even if you didn't make the game.

Tech is a neutral site for Georgia...It is at Mercedes Benz Stadium. Likely to be more Georgia fans there even if Tech is technically the home team.
