3 weeks to go in the regular season, we know who is going to the SECCG. What does the bowl picture look like right now if things stay the way they are?

I figure Bama and Florida both go to the BCS - one in the title game, the other in the Sugar. Capital One gets the next pick. Do they take LSU or would they skip over them to take an east school (UGA or Tenn who could possibly be 8-4)?

If CapOne goes with an east team, LSU goes to the Cotton; but if LSU goes to Orlando, what does the Cotton do? Do they take Auburn as the next west team, or do they take an east team?

Those two bowl picks then impact the next two or three selections. The Outback and Peach could be looking at a glut of 8-4 or 7-5 teams from which to make their selections.

Should be a bad bowl season for the SEC outside of Alabama and Florida there is not much there this year.

Depends. How do you see Auburn finishing the season?

If 'Bama loses to AU (which no offense, I really dont see them doing) and then drops the SECCG, does LSU have any shot at jumping them into a BCS bowl if they finish the rest of the season out strong? Or, because they are the 2nd ranked SEC team do they automatically go to Sugar Bowl?

Its all in the computers at that point, with LSU sitting at #9 they could possibly sneak in to a bowl game if Bama loses two straight.

I think that would completely depend on the teams outside of the SEC and the BCS rankings. If Bama were to lose one of their last two SEC games and lose to Fla, there is no guarantee the SEC would get 2 teams in the BCS.

Good point. I hadn't even considered that. Though, it's hard to believe that 2 wouldn't actually make it in. Even if one ('Bama) dropped 2 in a row, and the other (LSU) had lost to the team that just dropped two in a row.

Yeah, since that is our reputation, that is why I was trying to figure out this hypothetical situation, however impossible it may seem. Only because, if LSU was somehow able to sneak into the Sugar Bowl, we would be so ready to play and revel in the opportunity that I honestly think it would be open season on whoever's arse was put in front of us.
