Well, Arkansas is just on the outside looking in, when you consider its geographic location, relative to any sites in the South that could host events such as the SEC Championship, and basketball and baseball tournies. That's just the reality. You move it to Little Rock, and ten programs are at a disadvantage, not one. I guess that's the price of being the new kid on the block.

I wouldn't mind seeing it in Memphis, but I'm still against moving it from Hoover, unless its on a rotational basis. I think the SEC champioships should stay in Atlanta. I don't have any thoughts on the basketball tourney, considering they've tried St. Pete.

I've seen a minor league game in Memphis, and loved the park and setting. I've seen Alabama play Southern Miss in Jackson. Great park. Never been to New Orleans's field.

Still, I just love having it at the Met, and don't see any reason to change it, unless it becomes rotational.

i love memphis' stadium, but hoover just dropped a mill on the expanded RV park just for the tourney.

it wont be leaving the met anytime soon, as it shouldn't.

for those that say no/mem/nash places are "out of the way", just look at our bball tourney... tampa is actually outside the sec circle. so, give it a rest.

i'd go to the secT in the places named above because it's the city too. i have ZERO desire to go to hoover or b-ham.

and i doubt the SEC will ever let that happen again in any sport, it was a disaster and allowed the ACC to take the GA dome.

the success of the tournament has been based on convenience of birmingham/hoover(location). just ask all of the LSU fans that drove up just for championship sunday last year.

Any other place you pick will be further away for a larger number of schools. Do the math.

But, just like there is no reason to take the SECCG out of Atlanta

Um, I have a couple of good reasons.

Football is supposed to be played on grass!!!!!

In the unlikely event the doggies make it, there is a slight tinge of "home field" advantage for the pups. Do you not agree?

Birmingham is the best central located option. Just a shame the actual city is um.....sub-par. Hopefully, Hoover can grow fast enough to displace B'ham.

I love how the biggest poster advocating to keep football in ATL is a UGA fan, and the biggest poster advocating to keep baseball at the Met is a Bama fan...

Rotate football on a 3 year cycle:
- Georgia Dome
- LP Field
- Superdome

Rotate baseball on a 4 year cycle:
- The Met
- Autozone Park
- Zephyr Field
- Turner Field/Gwinett Stadium

Rotate it, and do the same for all sports.

Big 12 has their football and basketball championships from Kansas City to San Antonio.

Rotate it and make it fair.

You do that and the ACC will lock up the dome for that weekend..

You are correct in that, and part of the reason it will never leave. I really don't care if they rotate basketball, baseball, golf or whatever around.

Of course not, but why even give them a chance to catch up. If they actually get some decent coaches, they aren't that far off.

So rotating our Championship game between three NFL fields within our conference is going to give the ACC a leg up??

Perhaps you don't remember this...tell me with confidence that the ACC is going to gain something on us...

If you look at the ACC and B12 championship games in football, neither one is as well attended or as much of a financial success to its conference as the SECCG is to the SEC. #1 reason for not moving it, the chance of killing the goose that lays the golden egg.

I know the response of some will be "its the SEC and it will be just as successful anywhere its played." Maybe, maybe not. Can you guarantee it will be?

So rotate it once and if it doesn't work, then when it gets back to ATL, keep it there.

That's not how scheduling these events works. The venues have to be booked years in advance and usually want multi-year contracts.

You move to a rotation and you're probably looking at several years before you can get out of it without forking over a shitload of term money.
