I'm sure most of you guys are as pumped as I am about the start of the 2011 SEC baseball season as I am. Who does your school play, what time is first pitch, and who is starting for you today.

Mississippi State opens their season today hosting Akron @ 4PM and Jr. RH Devin Jones will get the start on the mound for the Diamond Dawgs. Gametime weather is expected to be 72 and sunny in Starkville.

Yall may have the most experienced lineup in the NATION. I think we are starting 2 freshmen, 3 sophomores, 2 jrs, and 2 srs.

Good postseason experience too. We lost our weekend rotation from last year, but I am hoping that Tyler Webb and Michael Roth can step back into their CWS form from last year.

Awesome stadium overlooking the Charleston Harbor. The UK fans making the trip will love it. Should be near 80 degrees down there today.

May actually make the trip down there. Had a friend in meteorology school at MSU, and have been to Starkville several times (twice for baseball). Great venue; had a BLAST in right field!

Come over to left field next time and look for a banner above our trailer saying Left Field Lounge Lizards. Tell them its your first time at Dudy Noble in the LFL, and they will feed you well.

I like the fact that there isn't going to be a lot of bombs. Its going back to how baseball should be played with solid pitching, fielding, and having to play small ball. Im all for it.

The runs scored in the NCAA has been close to MLB in the previous few years.

The pitching in NCCA Baseball has been really strong, no need for the NCAA to arbitrarily step in and change something that isn't broken.

I'm not really worried about it cuz Van Horn is a small ball type of coach but I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm going to miss the frequent bombs.
