USCe looks to have the toughest stretch remaining. At Ark this week and still a series with LSU.
Lots still could shake out in the standings and impact national seeds.
I think the conference has a shot at 3 national seeds. If Florida loses their series this weekend against UK, the winner of the Ark/USCe series has a leg up IMO.
After USCe, Hogs finish with AU at home then travel to Tenn.

They say the cream always rises to the top.
If we go 6-3 in our final 3 series, and win our midweek games, we will be a top-8 national seed.
I think Florida may get left out. LSU, Kentucky, and SC are in the driver's seat. UF will be a tough out though, and could very easily get to Omaha. Just think they are on the outside looking in right now at a top-8.

Here is hoping that AU finishes out the season determined and focused. Go Tigers

With three weeks to go and we are in 3rd place, is there a chance to play in the regionals?
Posted on 4/30/12 at 10:16 am to RockyMtnTigerWDE
Ole Miss has series wins over:
UNC-Wilmington
Miami (OH)
Houston
at Alabama
Florida
Arkansas
Ole Miss has series losses to:
at Auburn
at Kentucky
at Georgia
at Mississippi State
Ole Miss still has weekend series with:
LSU
Tennessee
at Vanderbilt
Help me get this straight, if Ole Miss can win the next three SEC weekend series, can we host a regional? Is it possible?

Not after you get swept at Baum in two weeks.

So the Arky aeries qill determine if we go?

Tigers jump UNC, SC, and UK in the RPI this week at #7.
Grinders coming along strong at #27.

If we stay above .500 and make the SEC Tournament then we'll probably make a regional.

You are 1 game over .500 in SEC with just 3 weeks left. I think its a little far fetched and Arkansas of you to say that if you win your series against USC you have a leg up as if you are in drivers seat for a national seed.
Maybe hosting a regional I could see, but short of going on a
win streak like LSU did at the end of 08 (winning something
like l0 streight SEC reg season games and sweeping sec
tourney) I don't see you getting national seed.

Sure it means a lot. LSU is only 3 games ahead of the pack right now. Arkansas taking 2/3 at home puts the Hogs @ 13-11 with AU and Tenn left on the conference schedule.
SCar would drop to 15-9 if they lose series to Ark with LSU and @ UGA still to play. UF plays UK this weekend. Florida has been struggling and UK can put a fork in the Gators this weekend as far as national seed talk goes.UF is 12-9, and will likely be 13-11 in conf play, tied with Arkansas. UF still has a tough series left with Miss State to go as well.
LSU or UK will likely be the regular season champ, unless both have a late season collapse.
If the SEC gets 3 national seeds, I see that going to USC, Ark, or Florida. If Ark takes care of business at a minimum the rest of the way with series wins over both teams, I'd find it hard for Arkansas to be passed up in favor of the other two with a 40-16 overall record, series wins over UF and SCar and finishing 17-13 in conf play.
Oh btw, I never said we would be in the drivers seat. I said a leg up, which is what we would have over both by beating them both head to head.

Look I get that LSU is the STANDARD in college baseball. But you lose all credibility when you say "Sorry, I was celebrating our 5th NC in my lifetime by the time yall were relevant in college baseball". SC logged 5 CWS appearances and 1 National Championship runner up before LSU sniffed Omaha. LSU is the top dog but SC has been relevant much longer!

I guess we will see, I just can't see South Caronlina falling that far down the rest of the season even if they do lose 2 out of 3 to ya'll. Plus if the third best SEC team is around 17-13 16-14 range you have to wonder if the NCAA will give the SEC that third national seed. I could see a team like purdue picking it up instead now that the NCAA wants to encourage a bigger geographical representation of teams. I see what your saying and it is certainly possible but alot of things will have to fall in place for Arkansas

Don't get them started on this. LSU fans aren't aware baseball was played before the '90s.
and if I'm not mistaken we were a 2X runner up before LSU's 1st Omaha appearance.
eta: Yup we were runner-ups in our 1st 2 CWS appearances.

I am pretty sure Championships are the only thing that matters in terms of measuring success at the end of the day. I mean thats what Bama fans tell us every 5 minutes on here.
No matter if it takes you 10 years or 100 to achieve those results. Btw isn't it almost more impressive that we are #2 all time in Champs that we achieved in less than 20 years. How
would that make our history any more impressive if it took say 50 years for that to be achieved?
But by all means congrats on all those runner up appearances and being able to brag about being relavent for so long. I wish I could feel the same way about last seasons runner up finish in football but it just feels empty and meaningless looking back.
