It's ok to shop players as long as you don't receive money. Um ok.

It's not OK but if the school does not pay, it receives no advantage. If Kid is innocent how did he benefit?
If shopped and the school pays or agrees to pay their toast. If player receives benefit he's toast.
Neither happened at Auburn.

as a parent of athlete, if I ask for money, receive money, don't tell my kid and the kid goes to a different school than the one that paid me, I'm a huge winner.

And you're wrong.
SEC bylaw 14.01.3.2
If at any time before or after matriculation in a member institution a student-athlete or any member of his/her family receives or agrees to receive, directly or indirectly, any aid or assistance beyond or in addition to that permitted by the Bylaws of this Conference (except such aid or assistance as such student-athlete may receive from those persons on whom the student is naturally or legally dependent for support), such student- athlete shall be ineligible for competition in any intercollegiate sport within the Conference for the remainder of his/her college career.

I actually agree although it isn't the SEC
it's the NCAA
they set a dangerous precedent today
but i'm very happy with it

It speaks volumes about Auburn's fan base that they know exactly what's going on, but still remain "very happy" with the way everything has transpired.
Kudos to the NCAA as well as Slive & Co. for sending a wonderful message to football fans and prospective athletes everywhere.

Haven't you been listening to the Auburn lawyers on this board? Apparently that rule only applies if the institution was paying. It's 100% A-OK if the player, sorry, the player's father was the one asking for the money.
Even better when the player's father is the one that picks the school the player goes to. Yep, no wrong doing there, nothing fishy, move along and let the corrupt SEC office continue their ways.
