I don’t want to be a doomer and it’s beyond overplayed to say the sport is dying, but I really thing this could be the critical point where either the ncaa is locked out of top tier CFB or potentially collapses all together.
There are some who will be really happy to hear this and that’s fair enough. However, all I would say is be careful what you wish for.

That.
Here’s an idea, let’s take a system that has been around for 120 years, and within which has developed the wildly popular college football that we know today, and just throw it out! What could go wrong?
It’s fun when society forgets lessons from the past. That way, we get to repeat them all over again.

Someone body needs to get involved. This portal, NIL crap is out of control. I’m not counting on the government though. The stupid morons in Congress can’t agree on anything.

Govt is never the answer to any question, unless the question is what's the most efficient way to be inefficient.
That being said...47 different teams have won the "national championship" since the late 1800s...take out the ivy league champions (they'll never win again) and you're left with a small percentage of "contenders"...why share rules and revenue with hundreds of never has and never will schools?

Lol. The NCAA had about 10-15 years to prepare for this and did nothing. They are useless. This was all inevitable after Ed O’Bannon.

Gee… who do they answer to?

Wrong. They are used to keep government out of college sports.
Maybe read up on some history, and you may understand.

Then you just become a weak semi-pro league.

So the major programs were frustrated that they might be impeded from maintaining their I’ll gotten dominance so they want to create their own institution.

Wrong, they were solely created because Kentucky basketball loved to cheat.

Gee… wonder why the SEC and Big 10 are about to separate if the NCAA answers to them.

I think we end up with the Elite 48
SEC and B10 = 36
ND makes 37
9 spots left..
FSU, Clemson, and Miami grab 3.
6 left for the schools in the Mid 2.
2 confs
8 divs

If there's one thing all CFB fans from around the country can agree on it's that the NCAA is a corrupt piece of shite organization.
