UF - UK is as close as it gets

That is what ESPN wants for the ratings but when it comes to historic roundball Stokley, Wimp, Dale, Nolan, and a few others made for some mighty good basketball in the SEC. Gators in sports are still the new money in both football and basketball.

Your stupider fans will probably try to force a rivalry with us since we stole Mike Anderson. As I have learned from the rant though, your message board fans "think MA was a shitty coach anyway, he'll never win anything with that style, glad he's gone, good riddance, we're better off with walking secondary violation Haith, etc etc."

Matter of fact y'all have helped us out by sending a few championship coaches our way. We should call the rivalry the "Suitcases full of cash corridor showdown". Unfortunately for Missouri, that is a one-way road and it leads toward Dixie

Arkansas had good basketball from the 1940's through Nolan. They seem to have gone off the rails since then.

Tornado and Porker,

A lot of graphs and "facts" about Mizzou basketball history in relation to the rest of the SEC.

Are you two retarded? For real? I never mentioned Mizzou. The original question simply inquired about basketball rivalries.

Funny that this innocent thread got you to waste so much time in it!

frickheads.

There's no way in hell that baseball is bigger in the SEC than basketball. Don't listen to these idiots.

Looks like Mizzou is somewhat average in basketball...maybe you have heard of our basketball team HC Billy Donovan? Two NCs and just the past two years we have Elite Eights to our credit. UF has boatload of $$, facilites, coaching staffs and strives to be first in everything. We have struggled with womens basketball though....but hopefully that will change soon. Volleyball & track, baseball, soccer and gymnastics, golf etc etc we field good teams.

I am beginning to feel Mizzou isnt a fit in the SEC though, maybe in 15 years it will catch on? I think its too Yankee.

To be fair Peck still is hot and she is great to listen to. Butler got jobbed in that Uconn game a few years ago in the first half but she will get it together at some point. She is a tough competitor and gets that across to her players pretty well.

Serious question...since the SEC is a football-only conference where all other sports are the shitty half time intermission show between seasons, are there any real basketball rivalries in this conference?

I hope you're joking. The SEC runs shite in almost all sports.
Bama- football , golf and softball
LSU- track, football ,has a good tradition of basketball, baseball
USC- baseball
Arky- track
Florida- all around great AD. Multiple titles in BB and Fb

I consider Florida, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt to be rivals in basketball. Not as heated as football but these teams stand out to me basketball wise.

ATTENDANCE Home Avg Away Avg Neutral Avg Total attend Avg
Alabama 390063
Arkansas 399494
Auburn 249281
Florida 460367
Georgia 283618
Kentucky 885953
LSU 276706
Mississippi State 278596
Ole Miss 263727
South Carolina 289394
Tennessee 456515
Vanderbilt 472834

1. LSU 472,391
2. South Carolina 295,389
3. Arkansas 269,433
4. Ole Miss 239,099
5. Mississippi State 202,340
9. Florida 153,484
17. Alabama 107,222
21. Auburn 97,794
28. Vanderbilt 79,605
30. Georgia 71,767
32. Kentucky 64,358
33. Tennessee 63,084

The highlighted numbers are the amount of fans that attended basketball/baseball games in the SEC. As you can see, LSU and South Carolina are the only two schools that had more people attend baseball games than football games.

You can also see that Bama fans do not attend any other sport in force other than football which is why they are the most obnoxious fans on here during football season. They blow their load during football season because they suck at just about every other sport out there.

You'll also note that LSU draws more baseball fans than basketball fans for every other school in the SEC except for Kentucky (Duh, wonder why) and Vanderbilt.

Bama has the 2nd most SEC championships in baseball, the 3rd most in basketball. Nice try.
