Schloss said Nate Yeskie wouldn't leave unless it was 'the right job'

June 8 -

quote:

"We met with everybody yesterday. We could not have better synergy on a coaching staff than this coaching staff. I want coaches that are upwardly mobile. I just want them to be the head coach at the right place. Nate Yeskie and Michael Earley aren't leaving unless it's the right job. Right now, we're rebuilding our roster. Aggies want to win every year, and so do I. We're focused 1,000 percent on this roster so we can have the best chance to get to Omaha"

There are also some rumblings that Nolan Cain is interested in coming home.

Very interesting, indeed.

Jay came to LSU because it was “the right job” and he won LSU a title. Hoping Yeskie can help to keep that going

It's a good move for everyone.

The Aggie fanbase has blamed Yeskie for some of their shortcomings so they get to try out someone new.

LSU gets a very talented coach with a lot of success and a great resume.

Very similar to the Brian Kelly hire.

Seems like a good dude. Good luck to him.

Nolan Cain begged to come back but Jay would only give him a recruiting role because he’s poor at coaching.

LSU’s hitting since Jay Johnson arrived on campus has been nothing short of spectacular.

LSU was 8th in the SEC in batting average in 2021…

Jay arrives and LSU’s batting average jumps to #2 in 2022 and #1 in 2023.

Iirc, they passed adding a third paid assistant in 2024. If true, would make sense (as long as he stays away from the third base coaching box)

Hahahahaha coming from the coach who’s never played in a CWS title series at a program that’s never played for a CWS title series

Schloss is a very good coach, but LSU is LSU.

Sorry, but no, he isn’t.

I know plenty of guys that played at TCU while SchLOSS was there. They said he was a smug a-hole and his assistants did all of the coaching.

They’re all ecstatic about Kirk and can’t believe they didn’t get rid of SchLOSS before Aggy took him off their hands for them.

Kirk seems to have TCU on the right path.

I know nothing about Schloss as a coach but he and Yeskie supposedly didn't get along very well.

He’s simply an underachieving a-hole.

You can even tell from his dugout interviews how extremely unlikeable he is.

Good for TCU, the best athletic program in Texas.

When you get a chance to be called up you don't just stay in the minors. Yeskie saw his shot and took it.

His future definitely seems to be more on the personnel side than in coaching.

Highly doubt you knew anyone that's on any of those teams.
