I'm not a pig apologist by any means, but Texas is the common denominator when it comes to conference destruction. Care to explain the connection?
Yes, please. I’ve yet to see a real explanation

Years ago, I read something written by Jackie Sherrill where he said that after A&M started beating Texas in football once he became the A&M HC that Texas had 80+ private detective types spying on A&M coaches, players, and family members of players and coaches. Texas was trying to catch them doing something wrong so they could be turned in to the NCAA. Similar to what Texas did to SMU that ended with the SMU program getting the death penalty. That's some effed up shite.
I know the SMU part is true, so this wouldn’t surprise me at all

No, I think Texas' role in destroying conferences is a well-accepted reality that every person here can see, (that's not looking through diaper-shite tinted glasses.) Find someone from ANY other school who thinks like Texas does on the topic of conference realignment, I challenge you.
Do you know the difference in a damn Yankee, and a frickin' Yankee?
I didn't think so.

Well it’s a legitimate argument I hear from our own fans sometimes

I've even heard fans of other schools that try to claim they would have turned down the network if offered.
Let's not forget, ONE of those schools was offered a 50% of the network. That's right, it was anm. They said they couldn't afford the initial price.
Never stopped em from crying about being left out.
Nebraska and Colorado simply used the network as an excuse.
Missouri tried their best to use it in order to go to the Big 10. Only problem being the Big 10 didn't want Missouri. THEY took NU and told the Tigers to go pound sand.

Simple answer. We left the SWC for the money. Not having to deal with being the only non-Texas school was just a bonus.
Your simple answer is not true.

Hatfield was a better coach than what hog fans give him credit for.
He was 32-13-1 at Clemson and was under constant attack by their fans during his tenure. It's why Clemson's administration only offered him 1 year extensions despite winning an ACC title and having a 2-1 bowl record. He got fed up and resigned.

Of course you do.

Yet all you Pig People could do was cry about the Texas officials as if none were provided from Arkansas.
Not too good at the maths I see.
You're saying the SWC had no official who resided in Arkansas?

1-5 at Arkansas...ok. Still a shitty record.

So was Houston Nutt at 2-5. At least Hatfield didn't get blown out by unranked UNLV and Minnesota.
Hatfield didn't face trash opponents in bowl games like some recent head coaches.
1984 Liberty Bowl against top 15 Bo Jackson and Auburn. They were preseason number one.
1985 Holiday Bowl against Arizona State. Tied for second in the PAC-10.
1986 Orange Bowl against top 5 Oklahoma. Undefeated in the Big 8.
1987 Liberty Bowl against top 15 Georgia.
1988 Cotton Bowl against top 10 UCLA led by Troy Aikman.
1989 Cotton Bowl against top 5 SEC split champion Tennessee.

My great uncle and Hatfield were teammates from Helena.
Arkansas offered my uncle first but saw Hatfield and Bill Gray and offered as well.
Back then you couldn't play as a freshman and so my uncle was on the junior varsity team where he was All American.
