If Hyman starts it, I may side with y'all out of my distaste for the man.

Hyman will fire shots, you can bet on that. He prides himself on being Spurrier's equal. Spurrier didn't like Hyman and Hyman took that personally ... like he does everything, but Hyman will fire shots.
He'll weigh his words carefully and give a lot of thought to the Vegas line the week before the game ... but he'll fire shots.
I fully expect Spurrier to fire a couple of shots too - he can't help himself. I think he's just waiting on Hyman to light the fuse right now. Hell, Ray Tanner will probably get-in-on the action in the process. No one here likes Hyman.
What the heck. It's got the potential to be a very decent rivalry on so many levels. Not the least of which, and I'm sure we'll play it this way, the size of Texas vs the size of SC. There are more people living in DFW than in the entire state of SC. Five times more when you take the population of the I-45 corridor from DFW to Houston.
Then you've got I-20 basically starting in Columbia, SC and, for all intentional purposes ending in Dallas although I know I've driven it almost all the way to El Paso to my Cousin's ranch.
It's what, roughly 250 miles from Dallas to Houston if I remember correctly?
Hell, 250 miles will get you from border to border at practically any starting point in the state of SC.
So it'll be played as a David vs Goliath match-up as well.
The potential for an eventual rivalry is there. The best thing that could happen would be for SCAR to run-off a string of about five or six straight wins over A&M straight out of the chute. With a couple of them being blow-outs where Spurrier is throwing for TDs up by 24 with minutes left in the game.
That's what needs to happen and the rivalry will be off and running in no time.

If that is what it takes how about we just let the rivalry develop over a longer period of time.
