College basketball is more popular than baseball in KY, TN, NC, and FL.
That may be 60% of the population of the South.
Baseball isn't nearly as popular as it's made out to be in this echo chamber.

America's past time is?
Basketball says the northerner.

No one has even implied that. If anything, "America's Past Time" is football now.
Don't get me wrong, I love the MLB, but it's not even as popular as it once was. College baseball is NOTHING compared to the MLB. Most people couldn't name a player on their college baseball team.

I'm not sure why you people are slinging around the term "Yankee" like it's an insult. That's a compliment IMO.

Bingo.
Average SEC baseball attendance last season per game: 4,899
Average SEC basketball attendance last season per game: 11,136
Mizzou and aTm were not factored.
I don't know how you can argue baseball is more popular than basketball in the SEC.

and yet I still haven't seen capacity numbers except Arkansas, which has a higher capacity % at Baum than Bud. That's a fact.
Also you saying Bingo to that statement is funny because you could make the same argument for Mizzou (good in basketball, shitty in baseball). Would there be this chest thumping and promoting of SEC basketball if you were having a mediocre season? No, you wouldn't. You Mizzou fans act like this is the first time the SEC has had multiple top 5-10 teams (even though you aren't even SEC yet) but remember when the Hogs came in the league in the early 90s? Or how about the late 90s with Florida? Yet you think Mizzou will come in and make the SEC a basketball conference because of your season this year in the Big 12?
Okay.

also what experience do you have with the SEC to tell me what sport is more popular?
I know we're not charter members and still get Big 12 jokes but come the frick on, you're not even in the conference yet but are the expert?

You mad?
You are ignoring ticket prices for games, television coverage, revenues related to the sports, etc. when comparing baseball and basketball as well.
All of which are in dominating favor of basketball.
I don't think Mizzou having a good year in basketball has anything to do with this FWIW. It's just a silly argument. Baseball is certainly more popular in the SEC than other conferences, which I think is great... but it still isn't as popular as basketball.

just wait, I'll think you'll be surprised.

If baseball is that much more popular than basketball then aren't the SEC schools making poor business decisions by having such small baseball facilities relative to their basketball facilities?
Just look at Arkansas for example. Their basketball arena is almost twice the seating capacity as their baseball stadium. Someone needs to tell the Arky AD that his priorities are misplaced.

Not at all. We just acknowledge that no-one actually cares about baseball, track, wrestling, ping-pong, women's anything...

No. People saying that college baseball is bigger than basketball in the south are just straight up kidding themselves. College baseball is bigger in the south than anywhere else but it's not bigger than basketball. Look at the attendance. C'mon.

What's with the hate for LSU basketball. yeah we suck right now, but we've still made a final four more recently than all but 2 SEC schools.
