Now you can sit in the quad, parade grounds, the grove, etc and watch the game, drink beer, bbq, watch other games and never have to go in the stadium while still getting the game day experience. The reason people leave games early is to go tailgate and watch the game. Saban called them out but that's not changing anything. The fact is we are heading for PPV to keep people in the stands. And if they start paying players guess who pays for that? The fans as ticket prices go up and then for sure less people will be in the stands. There you have it.

Thought this was going to be about the movement away from basic television to its current state in which I could watch every Miami of Ohio game if I wanted. Like how back in the day Notre Dame was so good because of all the exposure they got, and in today's world being on NBC is nothing special.

Well that's just not true. Have you heard of this thing called SEC network that will be a small monthly fee to upgrade your cable/satellite package at most?

yep, if they started selling beer in the stadiums it would be better.

and now you are just talking crazy. Everybody in sports marketing has learned that when you move to ppv only the sport dies (i.e. boxing).

The crowd could be completely replaced by animatronic mannequins and the SEC and ESPN could still make money with the sec network. There will never be a conference paper view game.

That's exactly what I do, but someone has to stay at the RV to guard the generator.
