been so long ago I don't recall how ban happy that site was. I just know the mspaint threads made my day and made that site worth it.

And those two things will get you a 7-win coach.

Which Texas already has, and this year will prove it out - Texas money be damned.
Not at all true. Lane Kiffin hired a play caller. Ryan day hired a play caller. Others have as well

Sometimes that change can lead to big results

Also, your assertion that Texas had “overnight success” could not be more unfounded. The program ascended in 2023 off of the foundation built by the players that also played in 2021 and 2022

For some reason you’re just a bitter dipshit that is probably not a real Texas fan and some fan of another school posing as one

Well that and possibly the easiest schedule in the SEC for 2 years
Texas didn’t play an sec schedule in 2023. They played the sec champion on the road and beat them and then a big 12 schedule that was ranked higher than all but 2 sec teams

good comparison. I don't know if hiring an OC would magically fix the issues, but I have a feeling he's going to have to try this experiment at some point. Even Mack wasn't above being told to find new coordinators. It didn't work, however. Forcing a coach to fire an assistant and find someone else is just asking for locker room issues.
Sark has to be the one that makes that decision.

Yeah, a play caller wont be able to do much more with Arch at the helm than Sark can, thats what people dont understand, ill take the chance on a number 1 overall recruit named Manning all day but if hes a bust then now were in same situation OU was in last year, now its all about run the ball and try to get ten wins off that defense and find good QB next year like OU did.

Here's the thing that worries me. This is his 3rd year with sark. sark should have seen this coming and had a backup plan. It really makes me doubt his ability to go find that QB out there than can turn things around.

I still say he's taken on WAY too much trying to be CEO and OC. We need an OC. Let Sark be the CEO. It couldn't be any worse than it is now.

...I take that back. I just had a flashback to charlie strong. It could be worse. A lot worse.

5 pages and a whole lot of word salad for the OP to say that Texas was never really back

We've done more the last 2 seasons than you have...with sark

I don't think that's the burn you think it is.

LOL
Yeah the strong years gave me nightmares, much happier now
Sark has done so much i leave it up to him, hes bringing in top ranked QBs year after year.
Quin was good but not real good, Arch is obviously not the chosen one, hopefully Dia Bell will be what we’re all looking for.
If Arch keeps struggling id give Trey Owens a shot mid season, he might provide more than Arch at least, im not sold on that transfer back up.
Our defense will have us in every game regardless

Yeah, 10 full years as a P5/4 head coach:

5-7 (twice)
7-6 (three times)
8-5
8-4
9-4
12-2
13-3

Good, not great.

Hornfans is still around? Isn't that the Longhorn Bob site? I got banned from there in the 90s

Yep it was Longhorn Bob's site. I think TexAgs was born about 6 months before Hornfans, and Hornfans never caught up to the quality of TexAgs.

TexAgs was ban happy too but that's the way these forums were back in the beginning. If you didn't agree, then get out. The idea was supposed to be commonality, not opposition.

yeah that might have been the idea, but Hornfans got quite toxic at one point.

Lots of "meet me on the cornet of x and y so I can punch your face in" as well. Good times.

Well the thing is - Sark is more OC than HC. He can barely name our D-lineman. When the offense is not on the field, all he is thinking about is what to do when we get the ball back.

Let's just let this ride out.

As an outsider, my perspective is that the train got too much momentum to stop.
