Players don’t sue when they’re paralyzed playing football. There’s an assumption of risk involved here.

Yep but the NFL did get in trouble for hiding certain things regarding concussions or I should say was going to but settled. Obviously there is a difference between having all the facts/evidence in front of you about something and agreeing to it vs hiding certain information.

It was just mentioned yesterday on here. Its crazy how many people use that case for an argument but know nothing about the facts surrounding it.

That is impossible to answer without way more context

If a player dies So LSU is going to tell the family to go kick rocks

Especially if other conferences shut down. Good luck with that

I would have made a waiver mandatory if players want to play so bad. Then we would have a season

But it sounded like players weren’t to excited about that. And actually there multiple demands regarding Covid. Maybe schools wouldn’t be able to meet those demands

Maybe if the player chooses to play football, he shouldn’t be around meemaw if he’s scared she’ll die. But I’m sure meemaw is going to church every Sunday as well.

Nice straw man btw

If a player sued LSU for giving him COVID, something he couldn’t prove, then yes. And if you really believe they’d be liable, then that would open the door for every business in America that is open at all to liability.

Yeh, you have no clue how the legal system works

The waiver doesn’t do a single thing

That sentence is pretty self-explanatory. If meemaw is going out in public, not maintaining social distancing, then she’s putting herself at risk. If she’s knowingly having close contact with people and is at-risk for dying of COVID, then that’s on her. Unless these players are isolated in their homes for the next year, maybe they don’t need to be hanging out with meemaw

My problem is I think there is actually a better chance if some of the players are not in structured environments its more likely they will go somewhere and get it and still bring it home to the elderly.

If there is a season you damn well know many coaches are going to run a very tight ship in fear of an important player getting the virus and missing some weeks.

If a 19 year old football or has lasting effects from the disease I guarantee you he will sue and settle for a ton of money.

I guarantee you if any player contracts the virus and sues his university, the only thing he will settle for is a big lawyer's bill.

No way to prove where he contracted it.

No reason for any university to settle.

Meemaw's church requires social distancing in the pews.

It can help but certainly isn't an end all be all like many are pushing

So many factors could make it almost irrelevant in the right situation.

Perhaps. But presidents in small town B1G areas voted not to play. These folks are leftists and do not care.

Yeah I’ve seen far too many stories of parties occurring with that age group to trust college athletes to be more responsible than they would be with the structure of a program. I also don’t think there’s any hiding from COVID. We can either have a slow burn and crush our economy and way of life in the process or just accept people are going to get sick.

I disagree. They care so much that they put the health of young people before money.
