Not a chance. Arkansas loses the opener to Nevada en route to another 2-10 season. Bringing the three year total to 6-30 (0-24). I legitmately feel bad for anyone associated with that program.

Sam Pittman is miles and leagues better as a coach than Matt Luke though.

If that's all you can find to hang your hat on, go for it.

The contract also includes a bonus structure based on bowl appearances, SEC and College Football Playoff championships or appearances and individual awards like SEC coach of the year. Pittman can receive up to two one-year extensions for leading the Razorbacks to bowl games.

Funniest part:
If Arkansas just COMPETES in a bowl game, the contract is extended (and it can happen twice).

So if he wins 6 games, gets a bowl game, he gets a $250,000 bonus and 1 more year at $3,000,000.

That seems like a very low standard.

You have to go back to Mid Oct of 2017 to find 6 wins at Arkansas.

That is desperation defined. 250K bonus for a record that gets everyone else fired.

Still, have to start somewhere I guess

It is a low standard but look at their record last 2 years.

Oh wow. I thought that was someone trolling when I read that earlier. Dude just has to become bowl eligible? Holy shite.

I see that now.

I hadn't kept up with Arkansas that much so I went to look a bit more. They're averaging a bit under 5 wins/season since they fired Petrino.

I get it now.

My God the expectations have become low as hell there. Auto extension for a year for the bare minimum....damn how low you have sunk.

Hiring Bert and Morris will do that

I've been saying for awhile that contracts should be low front end but incentive based. My suggestion was just $500k per win.

So I don't see a problem with the Pittman contact.

Better than $75 million over ten years guaranteed. Then the coach can make just as much money fishing on Saturdays after getting fired as they can by working 100 hours a week.

Exactly. We have won 2 games in back to back years. We have to start somewhere.

Pretty much, posters want to shite on Arkansas' record the last few years (rightly so) but then think this contract is silly

Bert won 4 in a row against Ole Miss despite them cheating their asses off. They can’t even make it to the SEC championship game (#4thand25) and we’ve gone 3 times. Hell, Mizzou has gone twice.

Imagine cheating and not even contending for a tittle.

Let the rebel bear landsharts gloat now. They thought they won the lotto with Nutt as well.
